Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Standard brake disc and pads Vs. updgraded kit

I've used ebc discs and pads for years on the race track on slicks, never had a disc warp but I have had drilled generic discs crack. They do wear quickly on the race track braking from 140 mph so I now run a 356mm 8 pot set up on the front with ebc pads all round with air ducted on to the discs Whe...

4th gear pull datalogit

This is the final 4th gear pull I did today after refitting the Denso 880cc after having them flow and pattern tested ( bought them as Sard 800 cc ) and making some changes to the injector settings and the ignition map http://i837.photobucket.com/albums/zz294/ronjon/14barpull.jpg Really pleased now ...

injector test

Stick the stock cams back in. Then re map it. I never had any sucess with 272's at all. I adjusted them, re set them, re dialled them and no matter what I did, my car made no power. Well, made a good bit more than yours but on stock cams Dave got some right advance in there. Drove lovely off boost ...

Damage Limitation

Thanks again for you help and as I needed to get the car out on the track again I thought remove some of the variables. so the only changes now are the forged internals and the GT35r, downpipe and 4" HKS induction pipe I have put the rev 3 cams and 540 injectors back in, reset the static timing...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] GT35R dyno dillema updated with 4th gear Datalogit 8 May

Sounds to me like you need a stronger spring in your wastegate... If it's to week the boost from your bigger turbo will just be pushing the valve open and all the boost being generated will be escaping out of your screamer instead of into your engine... Either that or a bigger wastegate.. 38mm to s...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] GT35R dyno dillema updated with 4th gear Datalogit 8 May

I'm thinking of putting back the rev 3 cams and trying that as I wander if the HKS 272 inlet cam is too aggressive for a standard head and inlet manifold, or I have just got the degreeing all wrong. Just before the end of last years racing I did my best lap times at Castlecombe 1m 13.6 then I blew t...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] GT35R dyno dillema updated with 4th gear Datalogit 8 May

Check the base ignition timing as a starter for 10 (did you have the dizzy off?), then look at your cam timing- make sure you've referenced TDC correctly... Hi I did as above and tried to set to 10 degrees with TE1 and E1 of the check connector linked with a wire, however the timing was still danci...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] GT35R dyno dillema updated with 4th gear Datalogit 8 May

has it actually been mapped ? Of course ignition timing makes a massive difference, but the lumpy idle could be your timing, or you could have a mad amount of blowby or melted pistons of course. Did you degree the cams properly, ie NOT using the timing mark on the engine but finding real TDC with a...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] GT35R dyno dillema updated with 4th gear Datalogit 8 May

why 800cc injectors at 56%? should be like 67% no? potential cam issue id guess if you got rough idle as well... only thing i can see in setup that is likely to serious effect power if its miles out. i dont know anything about installing or degreeing cams tho, so im prob not the best person to ask....

[Mk2] [Turbo] New forged engine will not idle TOOO RICH !

Power Fc with datalogit, JE pistons,HKS 264 exhaust and 272 inlet cams that I degreed to 103 and 110 deg, I expected the idle to be a bit rough but this is so lumpy and rich. I also have an ATS uprated fpv which was ok on my 540 injectors. It starts up fine and blips up ok Sard injectors 800 set to ...
