Re: Super Slow Drivers - The Worst Drivers?
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand they NEVER EVER brake a roundabouts. They just Plod up to it below the speed limt, drive straight onto it then come off above the subsequent speed limit  If I ever saw somebody do that around here I'd give them a f**king medal. *edit, that would make it a generation 2 3S-GE (1990 - 1993).
Probably - as I don't actually know what a generation 1 looks like (1986 - 1989)
This.
TVIS inlet manifold confirms it.

Re: Full set of drop links £35 on ebay - worth a punt?
If they are different, how do you fit them? Does the anti roll bar just tilt up a bit more? Uhuh. Only thing is (and this is actually pretty obvious) to take BOTH the old ones off (or at least saw them in half) before fitting the new ones. If you don't you might struggle a bit cos you'll be twistin...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] converting to 180 speedo
If you have 0-110 clocks then your car probably IS reading in kph. If you swap the dials to 0-180 ones and then fit a speed convertor it should work fine AND stop the limiter kicking in at 110mph. Only other thing to bear in mind is that the power steering changes ratio at 40kph and after you fit th...

Re: It's like a toy ferrari
The other thing that worries me about these (and most body-kits) is that if you're leaving the metal panels on there and gluing fibreglass over the top there's a good chance your car might be going rusty and you'll never know until it falls apart. At least with a Fiero-based kit you can pull off mos...

Re: Urgent Advice Needed - Drop Links Bolt Size
It's an M10 thread on the drop links. Not sure about the length. About 30mm?
If you're wondering about AF sizes (for spanners) that's a bit harder.
The original ones had (IIRC) 15mm AF nuts whereas the replacement ones had bigger nuts of 17mm AF.

Re: Can someone photoshop my sideskirts please?
I prefer my cars without dents in the doors and without bolt-on tat that adds weight with no benefit. Sorry if I upset the OP by pointing out potential issues though. And the benefit to me is cosmetically it improves how the car looks to me . I needed someone to photshop it so i could decide. I did...

Thanks for the replies.
I do indeed have folding mirrors.
I'll go and investigate both possibilities this evening.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] 5mm Spacers. Ok to use or not a good idea??
A track car will probably not do many miles or, more importantly, spend much time doing parallel parking manoevres etc so 5mm spacers probably won't cause much extra wear in the grand scheme of things.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Knocking from front of car.
The best way to check for worn joints in the front suspension is to get underneath it, with the front wheels still fitted, then use a length of wood to chock the wheel to stop it moving and then get somebody to try and turn the steering wheel for you. If the wheel is chocked so it can't move any sma...

Is that your car?
If it was me I'd be more concerned about the huge step in the front wheelarch rather than worrying about the colour.

Rattling noise from behind dash at speed?
Anybody know what this might be? At speed I am getting a pretty loud and obvious rattling noise from, I think, behind the dash somewhere. Seems to be two seperate noises. One coming from the passenger side and a similar noise from the drivers side. To be honest, I think this noise has always been th...

Re: It's like a toy ferrari
I just realised the other day when I saw some real Ferrari's that all these crappy kit cars have really devalued the brand for me. They have started on the Lambo's too. Won't be long before we have a MR2 SW20 Veyron replica. Lyndon. I'm still not sure if this is true or not. The is a bunch of stuff...

Re: Super Slow Drivers - The Worst Drivers?
Not sure I agree with your age range though, I was 25 when I started. Uhuh, It's more the sentiment that I agree with rather than the actual proposal. As a litmus test, I bet if somebody invented a teleporter, 75% of road users would probably use that to beam their kids to school or beam themselves...

Re: Km into miles (change over question)
This is exactly what happened to my car. Fortunately, the guy who imported my car was more than a little anal about this sort of thing so I had it all documented. Basically, as soon as the car was imported he had the car inspected and the garage produced a report stating the odometer reading in km. ...

It's all different cars. Yesterday it was a 307cc. It was scorching hot and sunny yet he/she had the roof up and they were doing 32-35 all the way in this 50 zone. I recall Jeremy Clarkson once saying that people should only be able to apply for driving licenses between the ages of, say, 17 and 21....

Re: What is the difference between tie bars and drop links?
TBH, the description that guy uses makes me a little concerned. Stainless Steel tie bars - those between the chassis legs and floor at the bottom of the engine compartment. Erm, what? To me, that sounds like he might be talking about the suspension tie-rods rather than the drop links (which would ex...

Re: It's like a toy ferrari
I actually think that kit looks very nice. I sometimes wonder why these companies feel compelled to make bodykits that require you to make the whole car wider and fit huge wheel spacers. Instead it'd be nice to see simple front and rear kits that give you the look without all the pretence. I guess t...

Re: First time poster long time reader! o/
FWIW, they changed the suspension for the Rev2 so it's just as safe as a Rev3. The main reasons to go for a Rev3 are the new rear lights and spoiler... and if you're not sure if the car you're looking at is a Rev1 or a Rev2. Also, you'll rue the fuel economy more of short journeys than long ones. I ...
