stock sizes are marked 1/2/3 & A/B/C = perfectly normal. its part of the Toyota blueprinting of the engine assembly ;) http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d38/skintbinlid/ST205%20pistons/rev3pistonmarkings.jpg chose minimal overbore: 86.25mm or 86.50mm with a typical 8.5:1 > 9.0:1 CR 1.2 or 1.4mm ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] What is required to get rev 3 power fc working on rev 2?
MAP sensor is plumbed into to the inlet manifold as per rev1 & rev2 MAT sensor usually goes where the 5th / cold start injector is located (can suffer heat soak here :( ) IAT sensor is plumbed into the inlet between air filter and turbo igniter: just use your current one and adjust the dwell set...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] more power for rev 2 please
fit a 21st century engine management system (reprogrammable ECU), and bin the antique air flow meter. that alone will help optimise your current mods, and improve torque and fuel economy. you ought to be able to max out the injectors (430cc) and see well over 300hp with the ct20b. with a good tune, ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] 1.5 bar on stock internals and c20b?
All depends on the quality of the tune and supporting cooling mods. How many miles covered WOT @ 1.5 bar >>> will shorten the overall life of the engine. more heat (piston expansion), more loading, more wear n tear. Assuming an excellent tune, and that the pistons are detonation free (detonation wil...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Cracked block anyone?
its been suggested on other 3sgte based forums, that the sudden surge of the thermostat opening can cause blocks to crack... oil and water temps should be within 10 degrees celcius of each other. hence a surge of cold water will cause the cylinder walls in contact with the engine coolant to contract...

Re: [All] [Generic] OK. said to say. want to upgrade the car. 4k to spend! ADVICE?
weak point on the rev1 & rev2 is the lubrication system. rev3 oil pump, sump pan / baffles /windage plate for the win! otherwise i think your stock rev2 bottom end should be ripe for a bit of td06 abuse :P however the rev2 head needs some flow mods: o/s valves and cams to get the upper limits of...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Is this parts list good for 500-ish BHP?
I'm putting together a list of parts needed to turn a std rev1 engine into a 400-500hp monster. I'm thinking of doing this over the summer months but want to work out exactly wha's involved and how much it's going to cost before I really bite the bullet. So far I have the following list. Is there a...

samco aux hoses, i assume you are refering to:
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
water by-pass hoses aka hoses from hell:
2 either side of the oil water heat exchanger and one at the back of the block under the inlet manifold behind cylinder
#4.![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
looking like a very healthy parts list.![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
