re-grounded to a clean part of the body - radio works perfect now:) The ground from the front loom was bad although it turned the radio on, and so connecting the wiring from the back to the front just extended the bad signal. could try putting clear wide tape across both front bumpers where the indicators are supposed to be, then from inside push them forward so they stick to the tape. probably worth using some kind of sticky glue/double sided pads to secure from the inside too.
