Re: Immaculate REV3 Turbo - and so my watch begins...

So naturally, I did what any of us would have in the same situation. I calmly waited for the traffic to die down, then went for a drive. I am lucky enough to live on the edge of the Peak District, with Woodhead and Snake Pass only a 20 minute drive away. Fortunately despite the omnipresent Mancunian...

Re: Immaculate REV3 Turbo - and so my watch begins...

So it was fair to say I was both delighted with the condition of the car and generally to be back in MR2 Turbo ownership. My insurance was set, so all I had to do was tax the car online. Upon completing the process on the DVLA website, their immediate suggestion that I put myself on the organ donor ...

Re: Immaculate REV3 Turbo - and so my watch begins...

So...on April 18th the big day arrived and the MR2 was due to be delivered. Being the experienced and shrewd car buyer I am these days I followed all the usual protocol when buying a specialist car. Oh wait...no I didn't! I spoke to Dan on the phone and immediately got a sense that I could trust him...

Immaculate REV3 Turbo - and so my watch begins...

Hi guys, I am a long time member and serial MR2 owner, having had two turbos and two NAs in my younger years. I left MR2 ownership around 8 years ago and over the years that followed never stopped pining for another MR2, despite being fortunate enough to own some nice cars in between. I would often ...

HI chaps, all good, have taken some advice on one of the MR2 FB groups and going to try to source a new set of OEM top mounts.

[Mk2] [Turbo] Which top-mounts with KW V3s?

Hi all, I did a search but couldn't find much information on this. I have recently bought an MR2 Turbo fitted with Tein coilovers and metal top mounts. The car is very low and very stiff. I suspect it would suit track driving well, but on the road it feels borderline dangerous, with the car hopping,...

Re: Agreed Value Insurance Question

Hi chaps, Just thought you might be interested to speak to Footman James. I got a quote for them for a reduced mileage policy for my incoming MR2 Turbo. 5,000 miles a year for an agreed value of £6,500 plus mods, for £380 for the year. Excellent value I thought. When I spoken to Sky to see if they c...

Re: 1992 Eunos Roadster

I had a 1.6 Eunos S Special for a time a few years back. The old 1.6s are great fun. They have a lovely metallicy exhaust note and love to be revved out. I could spank mine with my foot to the floor, rifling through the gearbox, engine screaming, then look at the speedo and only be doing 50mph! Idea...

Once I have the date from Matty and Nic I will post something in the events section to see if we can get some more MR2 owners to join us. :D

Re: Tin top owners - any regret over lack of T-Bar?

None of mine have ever leaked either. [-( All the points above are subjective and differ from car to car. My tintop never felt lighter or less creaky than any of my t-bars. Buffering is only an issue above 60mph. Literally takes 1 minute to get both sides out and stowed. And IMO it looks brilliant ...

Re: Tin top owners - any regret over lack of T-Bar?

I must admit, owning the yellow one was pretty fun. It was nothing like as quick as my old steel mist grey one, but the attention it got was ridiculous and in a good way too. I regularly got stopped by people enquiring about it and complimenting the car. It came with a SARD front bumper which I remo...

Re: Tin top owners - any regret over lack of T-Bar?

Only just seen this mate, congrats on the purchase  Before I bought mine I'd driven and sat on quite long journeys in a friends T-bar, nice feeling of spaciousness-ness, alas it leaked..badly and looked a bit grotty, I guess the rubber was going hard. So it was moonroof for me and as you know...

Welcome Kieran, I know that car, it was owned by a chap in Culcheth wasn't it? It looks well with those bronze wheels.

Is this your first MR2?

Re: Tin top owners - any regret over lack of T-Bar?

Thanks Torero, appreciate the kind words and very excited to be coming back to the fold after many years away.

I am at Jap Fest end of April, but have already booked a space for my 370Z on the Z owners club stand this year, but will be sure to have to wander over and say hello to you all.

Love your wheels Gazza (and your car in general). Three spoke retro goodness. 8)

Completely off-topic - I just renewed my premium membership and my last avatar reappeared; a picture of my last MR2 Turbo that I haven't seen for many years. What a nice nostalgia kick!

Re: Tin top owners - any regret over lack of T-Bar?

Sometimes when the right car comes along the decision gets taken away from you, The whole thing that brought me to mr2s was the T-tops and 'yes' , I miss them a lot :( Afternoon all, I see this has proven a divisive thread! Thank you all for your input. Martin's wise words have proven the case. The...

I have seen this car 'in the metal' and it is in amazing condition inside and out. I can't imagine it will take long to find a new owner.
