Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Softer than Teins?
Thanks for this input. My friend on here on here, Dave, has a Rev 2 turbo with the standard black bilsteins which are maybe a little too soft for my liking (although they are originals so maybe a little tired), so I was trying to find some middle ground between the two.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Softer than Teins?
Haha. Unsure what they are. Found a mouldy tein catalogue in the frunk when i first got the car; look like super streets and have the adjustable damper and height, but dampness doesn't seem to make a difference. Possibly just me; Peter's got it atm for a coolant problem and has driven it so hoping t...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Softer than Teins?
My Rev 2 turbo came with a set of Tein coilovers. I don't mind a stiff ride, and they are excellent on a track, but even the slightest divot on a b road threatens to snap the wheel out of my hand. I'm looking for a suitable alternative that's softer but without compromising the handling. Are yellow ...

Thanks guys - have dropped it off with Peter for diagnostic & repairs. Will update when fixed in case anyone else has similar coolant leaks.

Re: Air filter/Induction kit
Mine came with a HKS mushroom flyer also. It was black with crap. Replaced, but keep debating sourcing a stock air box to replace. Presumably the improved filtration would mean a marginal drop in bhp?

Re: Where to go with MR2 ownership... odd post.
I'm in a similar situation for what it's worth - new pressurised job which is only 3 miles from home (as opposed to the 15 through countryside and city that I bought the GTI to cover), exasperated by the fact that due to the MR2 being a weekend car in the year I've owned it I've probably got 2-3 wee...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Manufacturers still selling 43-46mm boost gauges?
Both that and the Omori look pretty nice. I'm after keeping it looking as stock as possible (within reason - no point having the original dial face as it has no units of measure) so I'll go with whichever does the job for the money. Thanks guys.

Cheers guys - still in stock at $149. A bit pricy but if I can't find anything cheaper I know I can find one still.

[Mk2] [Generic] Manufacturers still selling 43-46mm boost gauges?
As title really. Peter advised me while fitting the CT20b to my Rev 2 that I needed to re-install a boost gauge. Ideally if I can I want to keep the interior looking stockish so I'd like to try to replace the pointless stock boost controller. Unfortunately I'm struggling finding anyone still selling...

Re: ebay
Mine's 21 years old now so I don't bear it too much of a grudge - came into it looking at the MR2 as a car I'd grown up with (most friends had a NA MK2 as their first / second car) and that now had moved into the 'affordable classic' range. In fairness everything that's failed has just been due to a...

Re: ebay
I agree it's ideal, but how many actually ask for insurance details? Having to take out temporary insurance to test drive a car will lose you most buyers. On my old Celica the original advert stated 'must be insured' - I didn't get a single bite. I removed the stipulation and was inundated with offe...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Tire for the 15x7 Rev2+ rims
I am unsure if I am reading correctly - if so my usual supplier (Mytyres) have Toyo Proxes T1R in stock currently, which suggests other EU suppliers will. I'm afraid I don't really know any HK or Mainland China stockists I could recommend; sorry.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Not a pretty sight...Hose From Hell?
Any suggestions at all welcome. It's too wet (and dark) to get underneath it now but I'm keen to know what to look for so I can tell how bad it is and whether I need to take it to Peter sharpish or if I can leave it until I was planning to take it to once the weather improves in Spring. Will it empt...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Not a pretty sight...Hose From Hell?
I've not driven my MR2 much recently due to the bad weather, and decided today, with it being a crisp afternoon, to take it for a quick spin before taking the battery out for the winter... It wasn't a great plan. Turned the engine on and the rad fan started playing full blast. Peter at SBITS had sor...
