Re: 3STGE AFM on 4AGZE
From memory I think the 3sge one does with the pins swapped over, as that is what I have on my 4agte.

Re: 4agze engine and turbo kit
Sorry for more questions, as i'm just trying to establish what bits were put together for this 4agte. For example, my 4agte is currently a later spec with oil squirters 4agze block from a corolla, but its runs on earlier AFM electronics from an MR2 supercharger. Is the block later spec smallport 4ag...

Re: 4agze engine and turbo kit
Has the 4agze engine been rebuilt by Paul?
Also, what electronics and ecu do you have? Is it afm or map?
What turbo is it? And is the turbo new or rebuilt?
I might be interested.

Re: Engine support with box off
Scaffold pole over the engine bay and a chain onto the engine hook. Might not restrict the movement in the way you want, but the engine wont drop.

I cant 100% remember, but I think you need to make sure the mk3 box isnt from a jap import as they didnt all have lsd iirc.

Re: Mk1 4a-gte project
So you are building my car then? I used a later spec block from a corolla with the full mr2 afm, wiring loom and injectors. I can tell you it will all work fine with that set-up Paul, just make sure when you rebuild the engine you check the piston rings #-o You will need the inlet manifold fro...

Re: Lightweight T-bar Panels
On thin forum, almost anything is not worth doing, so i might not start my thread, because it would be full of such things. I ll just lurk around. Whoa, relax. You are talking to the fool who turbo charged a 4agze engine and imported carbon fibre panels at great expense. I love carbon stuff, if I h...

But the reality is you would have been better off buying a sunroof car in the first place that is already 30kgs lighter before you start.
DING
Even I acquired a LHD sunroof model, without even wanting it.

Re: Lightweight T-bar Panels
If you are doing it for looks, then thats fine, but for weight saving i'd suggest if you are down to saving 2.6 kg, you bought the wrong chassis in the first place.

Re: Ball joint removal
Had a similar thing over the last 3 weeks (it took that long). Ball joint was seized in the front hub (not mr2). Ended up cutting the top and bottom off. Drilling the centre out, heating it with a blowtorch while pushing the last bit out with a hub puller. It is officially the hardest job I have eve...

Re: 4AGZE bouncing idle and stalls when warm
I spent months chasing down a similar problem on my old supercharger conversion, turned out the afm had an intermittent fault. Take it off and ask a kind mechanic to test it for you.

Re: 4AGE to 4AGZE conversion
It did indeed have the ford idler pulley on it, so as paul says elliot, thats a good thing to change.
I would still consider doing the timing belt as although it may look good, you'll never have any guarantee of when it was changed, or how hard the belt may have become.
Oh, BTW:

Its a headphone socket
No idea really, usually you press source or something, but it looks too old for that. I had a stereo once with and aux input, but no source button, it took me 2 months to figure out you had to press the CD button twice

To be fair, I've definitely seen worse. The body kit is fine, the colour I can live with, but the wheels do not do it any favours.

Left Croydon at 7.30, arrived 2.5 miles from Castle Coombe at 9.50, finally got in to the event and set up at 12.55. Thanks go out to the stupid police that were 'directing' traffic outside and directed legitimate traders with valid passes away from the correct entrance gate and into another 45 min ...
