Re: Partner required - 4AGTE project

I live in loughborough which isn't too far from you. Jct 23 of the m1. I'm going to cadwell on the 3rd of feb (sat). Didnt inspect the bores at the time as far as i'm aware, i'm not hugely experienced with the whole mechanical side of things, it was my first engine swap, but i did enlist the help of...

Re: Restoration Show - **The AFTERMATH**

No worries about tools. I have an engine crane, compressor, ten tonne press, generator, full selection of axle stands, jacks, welder... the list goes on. They are all available for use, but need picking up from loughborough in leicester where i live. If i dont take my '2 i can fit a lot in my trusty...

Re: Partner required - 4AGTE project

Sounds like something i could be very interested in... especially if it could be ready for my trip to the Nurburgring in july. I have a mk1a with a 7 rib engine from a 100,000 mile mk1b in it that i swapped last year. The engine has a new timing belt /head gasket/clutch and runs very well. Since the...

Re: Restoration Show - **The AFTERMATH**

Well i'll be coming in my track car anyway, and i'll stick a load of the 'things to do' in the boot just in case we get stuck for something to do. I have a mate who needs an engine swapped in a red mk1b, only trouble is, the engine to go in is still in another car, but like i say, my gold one is rea...

Re: Restoration Show - **The AFTERMATH**

I'm definately up for helping with this on the day, however its my best mates wedding the week before, so i may be of little help with the planning of things. Car wise, I have my track car which has LOADS ready to be done to it - half roll cage fitting, bucket seat fitting, harness fitting, stainles...

Re: FSE BOOST VALVES ?

I bought one of these off the ebay guy a few weeks ago. It all fits very nicely and you get everything you need in the box including the adaptor that fits on the end of the fuel rail to replace the standard regulator. Although, performance wise I think it was a waste of money as i havent noticed any...

Re: Whats the best battery?

I recently got the £80 calcium halfords battery as I needed one urgently and had no other choice as the cheaper one was not in stock. I needed one as i was using a brand new battery that was lent to me by a friend. It was the wrong shape, but of similar requirements to my old mr2 battery. But i can ...

Re: Peak District Run - 12th November

I'd just like to say... i'm just back from the pub and I'm glad some mk2's are gonna join the crowd. I have no coilovers, no turbo, and no classy paint job.

But i love mr2's in all shapes and forms and i'm sooooooooooooooo looking forward to sunday.

Can't wait..... see ya there \:D/

Re: Peak District Run - 12th November

Don't worry about appearance, mine is the tattiest car you will see, and certainly dont worry about speed, as mine handles like a bowl of jelly and twistees are not it's friend at the mo. :(

Praying for dry weather, then i should be ok...

Re: mk1b into mk1a

You can re-use EVERYTHING, just swap the block. It makes things quite simple that way. Obviously if you have items in better condition on the donor car like i did, including the alternator and the exhaust manifold, then it makes sense to use them. Gearboxes are interchangable too - however depending...
