Re: JLW's ( REV 3 GT spec Turbo, smg Tbar ) YVS Performance Built
A bit crappy that they mapped it on 16v, alternators in normal range go to the low 14's .. mines never gone past 14.1. I dont think id be too impressed Surely they would have seen the 16v's when being mapped ? if this is the case and they went ahead then surely I should ask for the second two hours...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] changing boost controller and ecu
Its a tough one because the map will be set at the old boost controllers settings, its not the max boost thats a concern as that is obviously easily replicated. Its the gain to which you will find hard to copy over. So on full load at lower revs onwards the fuelling may be a little out, as this is w...

Re: An old Toyota & a couple of barges
Not really done much other than drive it. The map has been tweaked on the top end for both fuelling and ignition timing, feels good! I went out at the weekend with the MV Agusta F4 (pictured in the first page) around North Yorkshire and their great roads... The MV has the edge on the straights, but ...

Re: Strange question, been told by Leeds specialist reboring...
Plenty of people run 86.5mm bores, some run 87mm . the bigger the diameter of the bores the thinner the wall thickness will be, meaning less strength and easier to crack. Thats why its best to try and keep the walls at maximum thickness to give the block a fighting chance of lasting. But saying that...

Re: Cuts out after a few seconds of idling *SOLVED*
A dodgy pump wouldnt cause it to just die like that what happens when you try to restart it as soon as it cuts out? same again as per the video? or just completely refuses to start? if its the latter then pull an HT lead off, put a spark plug in, earth the plug on the engine, have someone crank the ...

Re: Cuts out after a few seconds of idling *SOLVED*
Get the sandpaper/ wire brush/wheel out. :thumleft: are you still getting any error codes? I had a similar issue last year where it would drive fine for a while then just cut out, but restart ok again if left for 20 mins, it was the coil pack bracket... I have also had similar symptoms and that time...

Re: Cuts out after a few seconds of idling *SOLVED*
Was the bracket and mating surface to the coil pack super clean? The bracket rusts badly. Its obviously earthed through the bracket then through the firewall too, so make sure the bolts are nice and clean also.

Are you not concerned about the swarf? Thats if it was found within the engine and not just a sweep of the garage floor
