Re: Apexi springs and dampers?

That pic isn't of the actual shocks but they look identical and roughly the same condition, 6 way adjustable by the looks off it although the front adjusters have come off.

Again I thought APEXi usually do induction kits etc but my shocks are shagged and leaking so got nothing to lose :thumleft:

Re: Apexi springs and dampers?

I'm not sure how its usually pronounced but its this company, APEXi http://apexi-usa.com/, rather than the usual APEX springs I see available.

I bought them anyway as they were cheap, can always take 'em off :thumleft:

Re: Project Beater - 1993 GT - T-Bar N/A

Jesus, sorry to hear! Myself and I'm sure Kitsan can assure you this car was rust free last summer, I can only think that the harsh winter and salt has brought up the rust  Those bloody cancer brace bars near the engine bay are a waste of time, I think water must get inside of them because th...

Apexi springs and dampers?

Anyone had any experience with Apexi shocks and springs setup?

Image

I didn't even realise that apexi had made these for an MR2, feedback anyone?

Cheers

rev-1 shocks fit a rev-2?

As title says, what's the difference between rev1 suspension and all the others?

Will Rev1 turbo shocks and springs fit a rev2 N/A?

Any advice is appreciated :thumleft:

Also, is that a jap import plate holder with a 13" x 4.4" number plate or something? Yep, that be right. I've always got away with it too  Ah nice one, I have a 12" x 3" and its just too small, looks ridiculous. But yours almost looks like its meant to be there :thumleft:

Join the que for a good condition OEM gearknob, rare as rocking horse...

I've just took my wiper arms off, rubbed them down and sprayed them satin black and they look good as new, and much cheaper than buying a new pair :thumleft:

Re: Project Beater - 1993 GT - T-Bar N/A

Good to hear she will be fixed up though. Atleast you have a nice solid shell too. I bought this one as the owner looked like he took lots of care, said it was all solid and undersealed every year. I got home dug off the underseal and and found a huge hole in my floor. Also the entire inner rear arc...

Re: Project Beater - 1993 GT - T-Bar N/A

Just make sure the bearings are free on the alt as sometimes these cease up causing the belt to snap. I don't have an airbox free at the moment, maybe in a months time. Although when I sold the guy the car I gave him a truck load of spares with it including and airbox, OEM steering wheel, engine lid...

Re: Project Beater - 1993 GT - T-Bar N/A

Also, it had a new downpipe/flexi centre section a few months ago due to the exhaust blowing so you should be able to rule that out.

I had the alternator re-wound by a local electrical company too and they said the bearing were fine so looks like I won't be using them again! :-s

Bloody hell I only got rid of it in November I think, looks like she's wasn't too loved then  The aerial wouldn't retract when I had it either, but I've just bought one of them amplified ones you can hide under the seat of your car and its brilliant, and it allows you to smooth over the aeria...

Re: MR2 in the snow... wow

Limited slip diff should make it even better!

And yeah to be honest I wasn't meaning this thread as in it has tons and tons of traction, more just that the handling is nice and predictable and it seems to stop in about half the distance of my WRX! :thumleft:

Re: Project Beater - 1993 GT - T-Bar N/A

Kitsan is the man who carried out most of the hard work :thumleft: And yes if you have the space then financially, breaking them is always the way to go sadly. I really wanted to upgrade the anti-roll bars on that MR2 meaning the coil overs could be softened up a little bit. Engine conversion I was ...

Re: MR2 in the snow... wow

Yeah don't get me wrong it was no 4x4, but for a RWD car its brilliant. Engine over the rear wheels means as soon as power is applied the rear squats giving your a bit of traction and then the fronts cut through beautifully. I have no doubt if the wheels were aftermarket and wider it would have been...

Re: Project Beater - 1993 GT - T-Bar N/A

Yep, friend of mine actually had 1993 N/A Supra and they were pretty close but I would loose him in the corners. I don't think the supra handles badly its just its a lot of car to throw around as this thing is really quite forgiving. I sold it for a Scooby WRX to get me through winter and instantly ...

Re: Project Beater - 1993 GT - T-Bar N/A

Yeah it was quite bad up here, I don't live too far from the guy I sold it too. Ah well best not to get it stuck or write it off on the way home

Its probably going to feel silly slow after your supra!
