Re: Gears through clutch

I would check for leaks at the slave cylinder and also the master cylinder, at the pedal end - its not uncommon for leaks to go unnoticed here as the carpet tends to mop leaking clutch fluid up.

Re: just bought another mk1 what do you recon

Just sold my mica blue coupe with the love it or hate it blue interior - prior to buying it I vowed that I would never buy one a) in mica blue b) with that blue plasticky interior, but it really grew on me after a while which works well as a colour combo

Well done! - was following the pre-sale thread, and for £580 you've got a lot of car \:D/

I think some one is listing a window motor on flea bay - worth a look anyway

Re: Going to buy an MR2 mk1 tomorrow (hopefully) need your help!

Hi - the way I understand any power differences between UK MK1a's & MK1b's is that the T-VIS opens later on the MK1b as the ECU is reworked for improved torque, whereby max torque is availble earlier on the later engines. That aside there doesn't appear to be any difference in bhp for the UK ver...

Re: Going to buy an MR2 mk1 tomorrow (hopefully) need your help!

One general thing to point out regarding the rust situation, not ignoring all the usual spots bottom of A + B pillars, rear arches (inner as well as outer), sills etc, is to if possible see if you can get it on a pair of ramps or ask if they mind it going to a local garage to view the underneath - a...

Will MK1b gearbox fit Mk1a engine's??

Hi - I've got an mk1a with the bluetop engine, but recently have experienced crunching when changing up or down into 2nd gear at all but the slowest of road speeds :( - theres no clutch issues, as its recently been replaced alongwith a new slave cylinder and rebuilt master, so its probably worn sync...
