Re: MK3 model year changes...

Yes there's no denying it, the 3S-GE is a heavy lump, all that iron slowly rusting away :( I've also just read that the MK1 kerb weight was similar to the MK3 - around 1000kg. Just makes you wonder what happened with the MK2??? I recently got back into MR2's after a 2 year break: I think they all h...

Re: Are these similar to SC Super Edition Recaros

They are very similar, but not quite. Have a look at Shish's SE listing on the SC forum - there's photos there of the genuine article :thumleft: Also some Hilux Surfs (or one of the Toyota 4x4's) had the identical (to SE) seats fitted as standard. :thumleft: No worries Garrick - just noticed these ...

Re: KYBs for MOT but what springs?

If you want a comfy ride, try to replace everything with standard parts or just bogo standard replcements from a parts shop. As soon as you lower or try to uprate anything, it gets stiffer. My track car has kyb shocks, apex springs and poly bushes. I won't lie to you, it actually makes my kidneys h...

You will also need a new surround for the centre console, as its been butchered to fit a Din E cage.

Re: any guides or digrams for removal of bits around the stereo area

Krista - top tip is magnetic screwdriver - thats what I use to install. The stereo was what came with the car from ben, but I replaced the surround, removing and making safe the additional 12 volt sockets at the same time, as I mentioned. I replaced the surround as the stereo had been professional f...

Re: Front wings

how much lighter are fiberglass wings over the steel ones? They're no lighter really, just means that once they're fitted you haven't got to worry about them going again. And probably a good call - as the metal on the OEM one's are incredibly thin, and can rust through even quicker than the origina...

Stripe retro cool - but why use a '90's toyota emblem? total wrong era - then again it could be a naff flying chicken decal :clown:

Thinknig about it I cannot understand why the question was asked by Kev as they share business interests, so maybe Kev would have known where to go for the answer assuming he attended the AGM? :-k

Re: WEB SITE :- whats happening ?

Some good answers here. Firstly - Sorry Tony, I do appreciate the amount of work that has gone into the mk1 club. As has been said, its very easy to become an 'armchair critic' as I seem to have become #-o The thing is, from what I can gather, one of the major issues of the club has been dwindling ...
