Re: Not a good start

Buy the repair panels off Ebay they are about £35, the bottom of the front wing is held on by one bolt which often rusts away just drill and tap it.

The cable length is 349cm, I know this because I measured it for Jimi who is making up some kits. Give him a PM and he might be able to help :thumleft:

They both sound great but I think I will get a Peugeot 205 for the track as the white one in the videos overtook both cars

Re: burning oil?

Did you check the oil before you set off? If not then maybe it was low before. If you did then the oil must be going somewhere, either on the ground due to leaks or out the exhaust due to worn valves/piston rings or into the coolant water, if it is going out the exhaust over 100 miles you should hav...

MR2 MK1 with some nice parts.

I have decided to sell my spare car, it is a red (pink) MK1 1989 sunroof model. I bought the car 12 months ago and it has not been on the road since, it has been dry stored in my industrial unit. The MOT and Tax ran out in May 2008 so it has been stood since. Bad Points Rear arches need doing, altho...

I have A539's and they are great, in fact if I remember right they were used in the MR2 racing series, so they can't be that bad :thumleft:

Re: Anti Roll bar break

The front anti roll bar is quite substantial so is unlikely to have broken, however the u-shaped brackets that hold it on are known to corrode and break. The u-shaped brackets are available fairly cheaply from Toyota, if the anti-roll bar really has broken then you will need a second hand one to rep...

I thought the ride height was set by the springs when the car is at rest, why would the shocks allow the car to sink down?

That is very worrying, if the cups move would the springs not drop down?

Re: Help needed to solve a mystery asap.

Update on this, we think that as the wheel is free when unweighted it definately fits. The actual spring cup on the strut seems to be sinking down as weight is applied, just goes to show how knackered suspension can get Surely the distance between the spring cup and the hub is fixed, it sounds like...

Jinxy gets his panels from Steve who is the seller on Ebay, surely you would buy from the cheapest supplier assuming they are the same panels, which they are :-k

Re: boot popper help please

You can alter the locks to work with your key. It is a bit fiddly but not difficult, when I bought my car there were three different keys but by altering the internal lock cylinders I now have one :thumleft: As above it is likely the cable has either become dettached or has been deliberately detache...

Re: Front Valance?

My local Toyota say the rear quarters are no longer available, however some people have said their Toyota dealer can still get them. It would be nice to know if anyone has recently bought a rear quarter as this would confirm they are available. I got mine off Ebay when I did my rebuild but that was ...
