Re: My first AW11 project
I have always used the two hammer technique when removing balljoints, it has never failed. The trick is to hit opposite sides of the mount at the same time, this method is also less likely to crack a mount. Having just completed a front end rebuild I can appreciate the work you are putting into this...

Re: mk1a bumper bar
Having just rebuilt my front end, with new bumper bar, two new wings and new valances. I know the bumper bar costs less than £100 including vat. If you are going to make one remember the inner bumper foam section fits flush with the bumper bar so your new one needs to have the same front profile as ...

Re: World Record Attempt Get Your Names Down Here **29th APRIL**
Is anyone else having problems getting through to the tickets line? All I get is an answerphone that says leave a message and then they don't get back to you. Yes, I gave up and faxed the application form back. They send the tickets out two weeks before so don't (as I did) expect them in a couple o...

Re: Anyone used honeybourne UK for fibre glass wings?
Why is everyone so scared of fibreglass wings? We have plastic bumbers front and rear, plastic splitter and plastic skirts. The only reason Toyota didn't use plastic for the wings was it would have been too expensive in the 80s. I have owned a few kit cars with fibreglass bodies and they have spraye...

Re: Body Parts For Restoration
Toyota still have most panels and they are not too expensive.
Front wings are about
£100.
I bought some headlight bowls yesterday
£15 each, I have been able to get anything I need from Toyota in 2 days HTH.

Re: Clear Rear Lenses
I got my diffuser from a local Electrical Wholesaler. I got a panel insert for hung ceilings, its about 2' square which is enough for loads of attempts. You will need it :D It cost about £3 I think. If you are near Barnsley I think I might have some in the garage, free if anyone collects (I wont pos...

Re: Fast idle speed ?
I have a manual choke and it has payed for itself many times over.
On start up the car idles at around 1500rpm and as soon as I set off I can turn the choke off.
The fuel savings if you do lots of short journeys are quite large.
Also it is not so embarrasing when you do stop at lights or junctions

Re: 22k since cambelt - still ok?
The 4AGE engine is non-interferance so even if your cam belt breaks it will not damage the engine.
However it is worth having it done for peace of mind, even though it won't be damaged it wont run.

I think Peter at SBits was importing the replacements from the US.
Give him a call, if not have a look on E-Bay.
Even with missing teeth the window should still go up and down, but would be a bit clunky.
Does it move at all?

Re: Wheres a good ignition live wire?
I have got a timer relay built into my system so it turns the choke off after 3 minutes or so. I must admit it was not my idea it was the genius of Jimi who designed the relay. I use a live feed from the stereo which comes on with the ignition and is fused already. I also replaced my switch with one...

Re: Jimi's driver's window auto up mod
I have done this mod and it works fine, I am not sure what you mean by Start/Stop does not work. The way mine works is the bit in the middle moves the window up and down manually, the switch that surrounds the bit in the middle does the auto up and down. If the bit in the middle is not working as a ...

Re: Sc rear light conversion - lock problem!
I have done this with my boot and passenger door locks as I had loads of keys. In my case a couple of the sliders would not line up so I just filed them down a bit. The only really tricky bit is putting the key cover and spring back in and then getting the cover on its was a real PITA but with a bit...
