I'd like to go hardcore, but I can't warrant the money.......
Correct me if I'm wrong patrick.
But by saying hardcore he means remove every possible gram of weight!

is there any oil on the dipstick?
If not pull one of the intercooler pipes of, if it's full of oil the turbos gone. Not too sure why or how it happens but it does.
have you got an insurance quote with one fitted?
And imagine having an accident without a helmet on.
I'm assuming that your british summer time driving will be on the road?
Personally, for a daily driver I'd choose a rev3+ n/a(178bhp)but if you can afford to run a tubby then go for it they range from 220 bhp to 245 bhp deppending on revision/age.
Fuel economy for an n/a is around 300 to a tank and realisticly a turbo will do 180 to a tank. I'm lucky to get 160 to a tank!

Just take a look round the forum and you'll soon pick up an idea of what revisions and mk's do what, hope that makes sense?!
I remember when you did this and wasn't to keen on it, IMO it just doesn't look right.
It's different that's for sure but don't be swayed by what I or anyone else thinks it's your car and you choice!
I found with a rev 3 spoiler fitted at high speed that a pebble felt more like a speed bump and with the the FE boot lid the back end felt like it was bouncing around.
