I used to commute to Devon in mine - not the most enjoyable of experiences, which is why I bought a 200SX. The downside to that was 22mpg

Have you got a post code for the pub for the sat-nav? If I'm at a loose end I might bring my MR2 along - I fitted some new (well standard) wheels on it today so I would like to see the difference in handling it has made.
