Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Is a GT3076 too small for a TMIC?

So if i wanted to swap to 3076,what sort of extras would i need?
I heard the 3076 will go straight on to my 3040 housing etc?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] 400 hp > in pieces...

I'm starting to feel, and regret the amount of time+money i have spent with the car in comparison to the results.Normally i'm a very impatient person,(as this thread may show) but its been over three years of borrowing etc. I have to have a focus (not the car i'd like to point out!) and that seems to...

[Mk2] [Turbo] 400 hp > in pieces...

As there wasnt much response in my previous thread in the mod section,i thought it more appropriate to post here. I am in two minds, completely 50/50 with what to do with my car.Do i: A)v.v.v. regretably (spelling) break the car for parts as there is over £6k there alone.and give up, never reach the ...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Is a GT3076 too small for a TMIC?

As the trials of finishing my car still being waded through. I was wondering,if i went for a smaller turbo,I.E. a 3076,would my TMIC set-up kit be too big?I know Xxxx and MIkeJc were running them last time i met you guys at the Pod,both with sidemounts (CC's i think) and getting good results (11's a...

Re: cost of building and engine with forgies

you would probably need a quick hone out of the bores if they are standard sizes.
various sundries would add to ~£50 i guess.
whole job would probably cost around £300 in labour i would guess (depends where you go    )

Re: 500bhp??? got about 3grand to play with

Lets uplift the thread a little by mentioning what welsh MR2 kroozer could have for £3000 :P My aim was 400fwhp,then it escalated majorly, the car has cost much much more, but partly due to ill planning in the earlier stages. Firstly, put a realistic idea on power goals,500hp sounds great and is a roun...

Re: 5/11/06 Santa Pod last of the year

YAY!! at last,i have a pic of me performing a textbook burnout! thanks for the pics Redeye, they look great. Ok,this is 1/2 good quality vid of my best run (with clutch slip in 2nd as you will hear) but pulling a suprising 1.9 60ft and wasting a 5.8litre capri in the process.. I have to add also,this...

Re: 446.3hp and still climbing...

I agree guys, I will commence testing at the weekend (or whenever i get 5mins free LOL) Primary check will be the cam timing, pressure test the intake system and test the wastegate (which at the moment only has the 8psi spring in,but the boost controller is doing the rest) If it does come to it,it lo...

Re: 446.3hp and still climbing...

have you any pics of the turbo itself? I am going to need to check the ex housing isnt too big (visibly),a few people have mentioned to me that its comparable to something way bigger than the person who sold it to me described it as. i have posted pics previously of my turbo when it was off,was it s...

Re: 446.3hp and still climbing...

YO! Although we've deviated on this topic somewhat,i ran two 12.7sec 1/4's with 112 and 113. not too much wheelspin, but laaaaaaaag tastic. I am now wondering on changing the turbo. Does anyone know the limits of the gt3076? I spoke to both MikeJC and Xxxx today who are both running them,i'm sloooolw...

Re: 5/11/06 Santa Pod last of the year

I really enjoyed today,it was good to catch up with a few other '2 owners also. I never got to speak to you for one reason or another though Nath :( I ran x2 12.7's today 112 and 113mph respectively. Clutch slip on both runs in 2nd gear tho,i had to slip it like a mother b£tch to get boost early on....

Re: 446.3hp and still climbing...

the turbo is a GT3040 (R i think)
its got a 56trim and 55lb flow rate.
Apparently a .6 ex/AR
I'm confused now though.
The exhaust leak is present but not extensive.
Apparently the turbo gives upwards of 500hp with fair spooling time.

Re: 446.3hp and still climbing...

the car has to be revved to a v'high rpm before it starts to kick. Dissapointing? yes.No worries Rickard, everyones entitled to their opinion,i want the feedback believe me!! i still have an incling that the turbo i was sold was mis-labelled.And unfortunately i miss the 'punchy-ness' of the srock typ...

Re: A perfect day @ Perfect touch..now with dyno + pics

sarcasm,lol,so cheap.
Nath,me and a crowd (including my dad in his '68 Nova LOL) are going up on sunday,it would be good too see you.
I need someone to compare my turbo spec with yours, apparently mine's bigger (?) resulting (partly) in the ridiculous spool time.
