Re: Non road legal Tyres

From a police view mate, you've said it yourself they're not road legal, if the bobby is savvy enough to spot this then your likely to get the same penalty for each tyre that you would if it was bald for example, 3 points for each tyre and up to £2500 fine. Possible 12 points and a £10000 fine. (or ...

Re: new tyres are horrible!!

I remember having cheap Champiro GT tyres on the MR2 N/A  I had these bad boys on my first turbo I brought, suffice to say they went in the bin after a first run in the wet, they were nearly enough to put me off MR2's! Kwik Fit specials I believe. Toyo's are great tyres for the money and wont ...

Re: new tyres are horrible!!

Depends on which budget tyres they are, dont get me wrong I've used Kumho ku31's and Toyo's (arguably budget) and think they're great tyres, but there's budget and then there's just going to a garage and asking to put the cheapest tyres on possible. Not as much a problem in the dry but in the wet 9/...

Re: Turbo?

the only downside to owning a mr2 is... what do you get for your next car... cause i aint got a clue. ive had mine for 5 years now and still loving it, and always looking to add things to it.. I went from my Tubby to a 328i then a 99 M3. Havent looked back to be honest, similar performance, convert...

Re: what boost can i run because im running 15psi

Even 14psi is pushing it without cooling mods but still.... You should be running V-Power petrol, at the very least super unleaded, helps stop detonation which will ruin your enigne (and only needs to happen once). No offence intended here bud but I would really spend an evening going through this w...

Re: what boost can i run because im running 15psi

On a rev 2 with those mods its far too high, the head gasket wont be able to take that, without extra cooling mods you'll be putting too much heat into the engine and causing det/pinking so potential for cracked ringlands etc.... Im guessing your probably using standard unleaded as well...

Re: How do i fit a BOV Blow Off Valve to my mr2 turbo rev 2

#-o You didnt actually buy that? Mate im not trying to be a nob but why buy a high performance car and ruin it by putting tat on it? If you really do have to buy a dump valve on a Rev 2 then at least fork out for a well respected one (HKS, Blitz, Sard etc.). Promise you that will leak boost like a g...

Basically, dont do it! Unless you prefer a noise that gets tiring very quickly to performance :thumleft:

Re: selling on ebay.... :(

Not if you've described it accuratly and to the best of your knowledge then there shouldn't be a problem, you cant check the whole car inside and out when selling for every single defect, just not possible. He's agreed to buy the car at that price so shouldn't be haggling the price, if he's not happ...

Re: newbie looking 4 another mr2.. any help??

For sale section? Pistonheads? Ebay? Generally where to look at cars for sale.
If your looking for one with a screamer pipe then your budget is gonna have to be quite a lot more, would have to have had a turbo conversion that's externally gated and no doubt other supporting mods, cost's £££.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Emissions failure help

Just don't go to a place called In'N'Out servicing/MOT centre near Cribbs mate, argued with the idiot MOT testers there for ages trying to convince them they did the wrong emissions test on my car, around 3 phone calls to VOSA later and they eventually accepted they had done the wrong test, pretty m...

Re: stop the chatter, will this work?

Just to be clear is it a 'chatter' sound your getting or the more common goose honk? If your getting chatter with the re-circ then there's something not quite right going on. I think there is a thread somewhere about getting rid of the goose honk, much easier to get a DV to atmos tho, that'll get ri...
