Re: AW11 Supercharged MT with TRD bits Japanese Auctions

Well it sold (as in met reserve) but unfortunately no final price listed - http://auction.pacificcoastjdm.com/stats/?p=project/lot&id=229541016&s It will have sold for a LOT of dosh. An extremely ratty '89 s/c (not SE), grade 3, 162k km, sold for 481,000 JPY last month - that's about £3.3k, ...

Re: Heater Hose Required!!

Beware it may be the metal pipe itself. If you go for silicone pipe, use a bit of instant gasket and a good quality clamp as they don't seal as well.

Re: o2 Sensor Gasket & Speedo

It doesn't flash for the knock sensor? Iirc it's only apexi pfc's that can be set up to flash the cel when it detects knock.

Re: 4age to 4agze conversion

Think the A/C is way over near the fuse box, certainly a valve there.

Injectors, is it a low vs. high impedence thing? Did you swap the resistor pack over (if there was one)?

Re: Loose streering

I hadn't thought of that no, I'll take a look tomorrow. What's the best way to test it? I know there's a bush in the steering column that can wear away too so I could take a look at that. I think that may be the same thing? As for testing, I think a two-man job, one to turn the wheel, and the other...

Re: 4AGZE Conversion

JDM's, including the S/C, don't have the oil heat exchanger setup. You could retrofit I guess, but if you want to save weight I wouldn't bother.

Re: UK fog switch electrical problem

Thanks again, all sorted. In the process I found my wiring notes from when I tested it on the workbench, and I had written them the correct way around and then somehow soldered them the wrong way around....so dunno where my head was at that day! Oh well, happy days and one more job finally ticked of...

Re: UK fog switch electrical problem

Just the UK standard one, fits instead of the blank - visible top of my pic. You'll need it with a 'pigtail' loom piece.

In theory it's dead easy, just wonder what I've done wrong....

UK fog switch electrical problem

Hi all, Retro-fitting a UK fog switch into an import to keep it OEM-looking. All pretty straightforward you would think! It all works fine but the telltale illumination on the switch itself is staying constantly lit, rather than just coming on when the button is depressed. The switch works in terms ...

Would be great to post up the size once you have received (and checked it fits) so it can be searched for by anyone in the future.

Cheers,

Seems like that one has been for sale forever... not sure I've seen those style of decals before so probably just some custom jobbie fitted years back? IIRC it's a US import?

Best place to sell?

Best place to sell a mk1 SE currently? I'm loathed to sign up and pay a fair amount to the likes of the mk1 club, just to sell a car. However I don't want all the great unwashed from fleabay sending me idiotic messages.

Advice welcomed.

Cheers,
Jon

Re: Stereo wiring / power antenna

Cheers, I've had a look in both the control boxes and can't see anything obviously wrong - dry, and nothing burned/domed etc. I did see a youtube comment from someone suggesting that it's a particular solder joint that goes dry and comes away from the board, so I guess I could have another look at t...
