Re: Does anybody know this car?

Mine is a Cat C but I've not had any trouble insuring it. Price remained pretty good too at somewhere in the region of £500-550 if I remember rightly.

I think there are japanese car meets around but not all of them are good. A good chunk of them are full of chavs causing trouble.

A couple of friends and I had a little meetup with another MR2 last night. Was good if a little chilly.

Re: Ace Cafe?

Nothing specifically for MR2's as far as I know. There used to be an annual MR2 meet organised on here but I don't recall having one since 2012.

Occasionally Draven finds time to organise one in Milton Keynes for us but again, been quiet recently.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Fuel Light not working

Sorry to drag this up after so long. Wasn't sure if it was worth starting a new thread for it though so here we are. As a complete opposite, does anyone know about the fuel light staying on? Was driving back from London last night and the fuel light came on. I could see there was fuel and the needle...

Re: Any tips on driving a paddle clutch?

I've always wanted to try driving on a good paddle clutch. I hear they are very much an on/off affair but not sure if that varies depending on how many 'pucks' it has. My bro has a 6 puck in his which doesn't feel snatchy to me at all. Maybe a 3 or 4 is worse?

Have kept aside some time to get up to this meet in between some DIY work so will definitely be there.

Foz, you can tag along with me if you still want to go. The old girl is a bit clonky and noisy but she'll get us there and back :thumleft:

Re: MR2 Cigarette Lighter Socket ( faulty ? )

When we got our first SW20 the cigarette lighter socket was missing, later to be found in the little pocket under the steering wheel but by that time I'd bought a generic one and made it fit. Now not only does it work, it lights up green

Ah, yes sorry BKR7E not ES. They are cheap as chips. £7.95 a set on the bay when I bought my last ones.

Re: time for a self service!

I just use normal NGK plugs which seem fine. BKR7ES I think they are. With regards to leads, I've been told the genuine Toyota items are best. At the moment I'm using the set which got fitted when the car had it's engine rebuild. We fitted some attractive red Magnecor leads but I got really bad misf...

Re: Complete idiot moment tonight. Battery mounted wrong way! HELP!!!

I did this back in July last year. After consulting the Google bank of knowledge I ended up stripping down the fusebox to find that everything was fine in there. Luckily a chap on here informed me of a hidden fusible link which it turned out was the culprit.

Nice when the panic is over isn't it :D

Yeah it's an odd one. Don't know what it is but it is subtly different from the stock Rev3 wing.

Willing to bet it belongs to a couple who are friends of my brother. White Enkei RP-01's, some sort of stainless dual exit and an aftermarket spoiler.

Re: Bogging down on hard acceleration/load

Checked the AFM and sprayed some GT-85 inside which had no real effect. It was able to idle again but not rev cleanly. Replaced it with a second hand one I managed to acquire and that produced the same result. Unfortunately I don't have a spare ECU to try. I do wonder if that could have something to...
