Re: Recommend me a mapper/sparky

Well, mine has finally been done by FC Tuning but I'm a little dubious about the quality of the work. Got a fluctuating idle from cold/cooled down and the AFR is nudging just over 12:1 on the graph. Feels stronger but I'm sure I read somewhere that the 3S-GTE shouldn't be tuned above 11-11.5? I'm go...

Pretty sure you shouldn't be able to move it around. May as well gut it all out and it should be ok.

I once saw a Rev 2 on an M reg. Dunno how they managed that!

It's strange as you see L reg Rev3 too. Maybe a new car that got registered late or DVLA messed up registering an import?

Re: What Rev is my 1994 Turbo Jap Import? And what oil?

1994 is Revision 3.

I use Castrol Magnatec 10W-40 in mine which seems to do the job. Not sure how many litres of coolant it takes exactly but you could probably find that info on Google.

Hope that helps :thumleft:

Replace the thermostat, bleed it through thoroughly and see how it behaves. Sounds like thermostat failing to me.

Re: Rear Lights - Fog Light Modification

As Red said, that guide is based on the UK model which only uses a single element bulb in the inner pair as a fog light. The UK model also has a different reflector in the inner pair (sometimes called a half moon reflector). This doesn't fill the entire lamp housing, so it's easy to see which you h...

Re: Doesn't like the rain!

As far as I can tell, it is yes. Took off the bracket today and gave it a scrub where the ignitor meets it and did the same on the ignitor itself. Also decided to clean the faces where it bolts to the body of the car so there has to be a better earth. Definitely starts better but I got two massive s...

Re: Doesn't like the rain!

Apologies for dragging this back up again. Got a wet weather problem myself but a little different. When my car is parked at home it's facing downwards on a slope and after there has been any significant rain it sounds exactly like an Impreza when I start it and there is sparks coming from where the...

Re: Loud ticking under acceleration

I had this not too long ago. Thought it must have been leaves or something and then the extension tube with my wastegate on it snapped off. Was gas leaking from the exhaust manifold essentially.

I'd love to say it was, but Andy's has black wheels. I did take mine out for a brief jaunt up to London Colney on Sunday but I don't think I did on Saturday.

Not sure if he's still got it or not. His wife recently had a child and I've not seen it since. Either they've sold it on in favourites of a more family friendly car or stored it away for a bit. If I see him I'll ask.

Re: which exhaust for deep but smooth sound please?

Not sure how they compare in terms of budget, but a Japspeed with a cat left in place shouldn't be too bad. Mongoose is probably better quality though.
