Headlight pivot sheard

Hi, went to pop the headlights after a summer of not needing them, and the passenger side didn't rise. Taking the top cover off one of the pivots has snapped. https://i.imgur.com/Yt7Ktyk.jpg I was wondering what the suggested method of repair is, I was thinking of drilling out the old one and replac...

Re: Supercharger not engaging / ECU Problem?

I did wonder how the car would still work if the ECU was broken, but thought it might use some sort of default 'get you home' mode. The mechanic did say that he'd managed to engage the supercharger by overriding the ECU, so that was his best guess. For the hoses where would I get replacements from, ...

Supercharger not engaging / ECU Problem?

I checked all the basic stuff listed in the workshop manual, fuses, relay, hoses, resistance across the clutch and they all seem fine so I took my car to a friendly mechanic who did some further tests and has said that there doesn't appear to be a signal from the ECU to engage the supercharger clutc...

Supercharger not charging....

Hi, my supercharger was working fine yesterday, but on this mornings trip to work it's down on power and I can't hear the Supercharger spinning up. The Green-Light on the dash still comes on and I've had a quick look around the engine to make sure that all the pipes and wires are still connected and...

Supercharger won't rev past 2.5k

Hi, my SC has started cutting out at 2.5k. I've checked the plugs, HT leads and distributor cap and they all appear to be fine. The car has been sat for a couple of weeks, and I've replaced the radiator so I'm wondering if I've knocked a connector somewhere. It idles fine and will rev steady until i...

Re: SC Radiator Required

Getting the old radiator and fan's off was fairly easy, but I'm thinking about only putting back the radiator fan as the air-con hasn't worked since I got the car and the condenser fell apart a long ago, it's also proving tricky getting them both back on due to the position of my alarm sounder. Hayn...

Re: SC Radiator Required

I didn't get around to trying Toyota, figured they would be either expensive or out of stock.

TCB have come through, should be arriving tomorrow - so that's my weekend sorted.

Re: SC Radiator Required

Thanks for information, I've had to bleed the system before when I replaced the front cross member so am aware of the fun and plastic tubes that are involved :)

Just got to find one as TCB are out of stock on the later model, but are trying to source one.

SC Radiator Required

Hi, The radiator in my SC sprung a leak over the weekend and I'm just checking that it's the same as a mk1b? TCB list rads for £92, where as FenSport want £239.... is there a difference (other than the price) and are there any better options ? I'm hoping it's a straight forward job to replace, espec...

Re: Do you really need the cold start injector?

You could just link it out on your track car, just means it will operate every time you start the engine, the few seconds it will be on shouldn't make any difference if engine is warm. Jimi September is here and my SC is taking more and more cranks to start, the colder it gets in the morning. I'll ...

Re: DUXFORD IMPERIAL War MUSEUM CAR SHOW 3RD MAY CLUB STAND

It was a good day, thanks to Scott for the hat and taking the time to show me around his car. Very nice it looks too.

Thanks also to Crazylegs and Jinxy for their hospitality.

Hopefully next time I should be able to bring my own car, one year should be enough time to get it fixed !

Re: Wing Mirror Glass

Just have to be brave and lever them out of the casing. They're located by a ball and socket in the centre plus a couple of plastic threaded adjusters which will sound like they're stripping but they're not. Yeah, I sprayed the ones on my previous car and they do sounds like you're stripping the th...

Re: WEB SITE :- whats happening ?

Playing devils advocate - what is any spangly new website going to offer that you can't get from the IMOC site? I suspect this is the biggest issue with your membership decline; £5 IMOC membership with a fully loaded site and hundreds of helpful members, versus £30 with no website, few members and ...

Re: alternator seized

I had the same problem a couple of weeks back and freed mine using a socket on the nut. Took the whole unit off the car, but you might be able to get a socket on without doing this. I also had to buy a 22mm socket, as my set didn't go that high, but it was still cheaper than a new alternator. I thin...

If it had been dark blue, t-bar with black interior, I'd have sold the wife and kids to buy it. :)

Alternator woes...

Got the alternator out of the car and it's appears to be very much seized as I can't turn it by hand. What's the best way to un-seize it and how long should the brushes be ? Haynes says to measure them and replace if they are below the minimum length, but helpfully, doesn't say how long that should ...
