Thanks mate for the great suggestion. I decided i'm gonna make my life easy and just leave normal h4 bulbs in. So many other things to sort out on the car i can live with dull lights.
Thanks again Steven. Have swapped bulbs back to standard H4 halogens and can confirm i'm now getting 12v on the high beam pin for the dashboard connector. Happy days. Now i just need to put the dash back together.
My bro thought this might be the case. I also have LEDs but have replacement standard bulbs on the way so will install those and recheck. Hope it sorts it and thanks for the response.
Hi all, My 1990 Rev1 turbo failed its MOT because the high beam indicator light isn't activating. The actual high beams and flash all work fine. I thought it would just be a bulb replacement, but unfortunately it wasn't that easy. I checked the voltages on the indicator bulb contacts and when lights...
It probably works in a similar way. If you happen to have a documents folder see if you have the manual for the alarm and if it has a 4 digit code that you can enter somewhere to override the disarm.
Thanks for all the help guys. Refreshing all the major grounds in both engine bay and battery did help and so did cleaning up terminals on starter motor but would still get some intermittent issues. Think i've finally got hopefully the last piece of the puzzle. The wire that has the brown comnector ...
In the end i just wired up an aftermarket gauge and connected it to the sensor. All works fine and reads the temp accurately now. Must have been a dodgy cable from sensor back to dash or even the gauge in the dash.
Do you know what type of alarm/immobilizer you have? I have a cobra in mine and even if the pairing messes up i have a code that i can enter via a button that will always deactivate the full system. Might be worth trying that if you can and try and repair the fobs, etc. It may be that the system's b...
Hi all,
Trying to get the actuator out on the drivers side. I'm trying to disconnect the last silver arm at the top connected to the door handle but it just wont come out. I've released the clip at the top of the arm but trying to pull it out just isn't working. Am i missing something?
Thanks
Yeah the radiator gets hot after it's been running a while and everything works fine. Running temps are fine and ecu is getting the correct temp (have motec m4 so reading from laptop). It's hust the temp gauge that seems to have a messed up scale.
Hi guys, Any suggestions on things to check for this issue. When cold needle on the tenp gauge is at the bottom. When i run the engine it gradually moves up and when at running temp the gauge is at max. The water temps and thermostat are fine at around 85oC when running (read from water temp sensor ...
Thx for your help and advice. So i think there were a few potentially related issues. First off i cleaned up the main ground and noticed that my transmission ground had a melted connector and parts of the cable had also melted. Must have been run with a dodgy/discommected main ground or something in...
So swapped the starter relay but doesn't seem to be that. It started up but after looking at some other issues (testing temp gauge by earthing the connector that's normally comnected to the water temp sender) it now isn't starting again. And hasn't sprung into life by itself like it has sometimes pr...
So very strange. Gave up yesterday. Just wouldn't turn. Tried this morning and it starts. Don't get it. Haven't touched a thing. Have ordered a replacement starter relay already but just don't quite understand the behaviour.
Hi all. Have a strange problem. Car cut out the other day as i was driving off a ramp after oil and filter change. Turn key and dash lights up, hear fuel pump running as long as i've disabled immobilizer, but nothing when i turn key to start. No turning, cranking or anything. Can't hear any clicks f...
Uh oh. Took it for a spin during the day today and noticed puffs of smoke coming from the engine bay (not exhaust) when the bov dumped which means the crank case pressure is blowing oil through the aftermarket catch can and back into the intake to come out the bov. Think I have fried some piston rin...
It was mapped when tgw qeather was warmer and although there is some temperature compensation for fuelling, etc. it just seemed to pull so much harder for the short drive before i started getting the problems described. It may actually be unrelated and i havent had a chance to get to work on the car...
