Slight compressor surge with gt3071
Hi peeps. Would like some advice. The tubby is a forged rev1 turbo build with a bmic, gt3071r (0.63AR) turbo, sard fuel rail and 880cc injectors. It's running nicely on the current map but accelerating from mid rpms in 5th gear results in some compressor surge. All other gears are fine and it's fine...

Re: Geomotry setup
Just had my 4 wheel alignment done on the weekend. I went to DC Autos in Frogmore in St Albans and asked them to setup the tubby using Dino's settings (http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=184640&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0). The owner Danny was really meticulous in getting ...

Re: Recommend me a mapper/sparky
Also +1 for Adrian at Fensport. Mapped mine with Motec M4. Was producing good boost with decent power, but after remap was producing much more power, and such a difference in throttle response on the same boost.

Has the latch made the pop sound and isn't opening? Maybe try disconnecting the cable from the lever in the driver footwell and pulling the cable with some plyers on the end to get it to pop.

Admiral told me they insure up to 5 mods. Had to go elsewhere because of that. I'm now with Keithmichaels.co.uk

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Seals for SARD 850cc injectors
I needed seals for my delphi 880cc injectors and spent ages trying to figure out what I needed but there wasn't any solid info I could find. In the end I contacted Mr Injector UK mrinjectoruk.co.uk and sent him photos of an injector and measurements of each of the seals I needed (inside diameter, ou...

Re: Apexi Power FC Swap
Yeah you need to be careful. Although the car and mods is similar it could be behaving differently for any number of reasons so you could end up running a bit too lean on boost which could cause you problems. It really is worth getting a remap done by a good tuner.

Re: Longer wheel studs
In case this helps anyone i needed to get extended wheel studs for the fronts wheels on my 1990 rev1 turbo and after getting some wrong ones these worked for me perfectly. Got the 55mm ones. Think the stock are 40mm on the fronts at least. http://www.wheelspacers.uk.com/index.php?cat=c354_nach-Gewin...

Re: Quality water meth kits
Was recently talking to Adrian at Fensport about this. Had a tuning session for my motec ecu and we were limited by engine temps. Next step if I want more power will probably be water meth injection and they do kits and can configure their behaviour. Would match this with a mapping session, of cours...

Re: Engine management light comes on when boosting
Had a dodgy knock sensor on a rev3 and it was really nerfing the power. Would sometimes get the engine warning light. Reset the ecu and if the warning keeps coming back check the timing isn't too advanced, then if still no good try replacing the knock sensor.

Re: Injector o rings
For future reference for anyone else that needs to replace these the big o ring (brown one) you need at the bottom of the injector is 7.65mm inner diameter, 14.5mm outer diameter. The small top o rings have a similar inner diameter (though the ones I received are marginally too loose on the inner di...

Re: Hi there :) I'm a newbie, just bought a rev 3 turbo)need some advise on bhp mods
Like someone else mentioned I'd get it into an MR2 specialist to have them give it a check over to check for leaks and obvious tell tale signs of issues before straining it. To get 300 assuming your engine, turbo, sensors, injectors, etc. are happy then aftermarket intercooler, boost controller to a...

Re: My speedo isnt reading right what can i do?
Rev3 I had that had the lockwood dials put on was exactly 10mph below. So was reading 40 when I was going 30. My bro did the needle recalibration mentioned in here and it's been fine since. Think it just wasn't repositioned properly when the dials were changed.

Re: Brake upgrade
Thanks for the feedback guys. I think I'm swaying towards upgrading to rev3+ brakes. Are the rev3+ calipers all different as well as discs? Or is it just worth me upgrading discs and making sure my calipers are working nicely rather than upgrade the calipers too?

Brake upgrade
Hi guys, Am looking at some upgrades for my brakes as they feel really soft and crappy and I don't have a lot of confidence in them. Will be getting some braided lines regardless so may just make that the only change, but also have some s14 front callipers, supra front disks, and rx8 rear discs that...
