Re: standard boot gague?

That's exactly where it should go...

The stock gauge is "for indication only" it's not even linear

Re: Had a disaster overhauling my CC pump!

Assuming that's a Toyota GT4 Pump... I'm pretty sure the Brushes are Replaceable and listed as a spare part from a main dealer...

I doubt they are anything special, and you could retrofit something from Black & Decker / Zanussi if Mr-T bends you over.

Re: What's this box for then?

It's the DSP box for the top of the range Toyota headunit.

Pain in the bum having this unit, as none of the autoleads adapter cables fit!

Re: Toyo T1R's...

I honestly have to say the T1R is the worst tyre I have ever had on the MR2...

Far better and Cheaper were the Marrangoni's I had on last. Unfortunately you cannot get the correct fitments for Zeta-Linea or Mythos in 15's, but they do have other summer tyres I would suggest you consider if on budget

Re: Clutch replacement quality

Have you asked a Toyota dealer what they charge for an original part? You may be surprised... for older vehicles the dealer can be very competitive... I found it cheaper to buy a wheel bearing from Toyota for example than it was from Blue-Print / Motor Factor! My stock Toyota clutch did me proud - S...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Spluttering in the morning then clears up? Any ideas?

Well if you DO have a Rev3 Turbo (as in your Sig) then you do not have EGR or a MAF, and the important Airtemp sensor is just behind the Throttle. The Rev3's have Larger injectors than the Rev1/2's and so the "Cold Start Injector" (electric choke) was not necessary. The ECU knows the engin...

Re: Where to buy 86.5mm cast 3SGE pistons?

I presume toyota don't make standard 'oversize' pistons then??
As I would have thought due to the specific nature of it any aftermarket would be Forged and turned.

Re: Radweld

So... Radweld works by dissolving into the coolant and solidifying on contact with air as it leaks out of the Radiator... So what happens when it is pushed HOT out of the cooling system to the Non-pressurised 'open to air' expansion tank of the MR2? It does not sound like a good idea, and I wouldn't...

Re: Breaking MR2's - The new trend

The MR2 is not a Rare Car - That's the problem. Just look at JAE. MR2's outnumber all other models many fold. It was a rare car before the Jap importing craze began in the late 90's, but then the UK was flooded. As the Yen grew stronger the quality of the imports fell and that plus the numbers led t...

Re: Problems after cambelt change

Honestly, it's still likely to be Mechanical timing. Print of the toyota BGB from ere http://www.mr2-tech.com/bgb/mechanical/volume1/engine_mechanical.htm although this is for a Rev1 engine. That's a point... Worth double checking the correct belt was fitted - Rev1&2 is different to Rev3 - Numbe...

Re: Problems after cambelt change

You cannot correct Mechanical timing by rotating the distributor (Ignition timing) Mechanical timing (Cams Vs Crank) is fixed by the cam-belt, and would be out if the cams were not correctly positioned when the new belt went on. There are markers on the cam pulleys, Belt, and Crank pulley that allow...

Re: [All] [Turbo] AVC-R Screen died

http://i911.photobucket.com/albums/ac313/paulport1972/CarBits1/AVCR.jpg Looks like nothing intrinsically broken... It's just that resistor was getting rather hot and un-soldered it's self. It would be worth you checking the car battery voltage when RPM > 1200 in case your alternator is over-chargin...

Re: Carbotech Panther XP8 Race Spec Brake Pads

If you are after a Track only pad then the XP8 is ideal. The grip is adequate from cold as the coefficient of friction is so high. After first application the stopping power is second to none, and they continue to work fade free with extreme punishment. Words of caution: These pads continue to opera...
