I rung toyota for a price for front shocks £66.19 each for a complete shock not an insert

when i replaced mine un screwed throttle body and left it resting above gear box, un clipped throttle cable , disconnected sensor, and all pipes from the inlet manifold, removed manifold and two screws in the plastic cover containing the injector wiring and pulled that to one side to get at the bolt...

sounds like the door lock switch, have you access to a multi meter?
