Re: Rev4 takes 10 mins to warm up with rich fueling, bad mpg
Hi I changed the thermostat but its still running rich and now failed the mot emissions test :( I guess the next thing to try is the 2 wire coolant ecu sensor but where is it? Do I need to get at it with car ramps from underneath, will just disconnecting it prove it before replacement? Any help is m...

I'm very happy with my pre-year 2000 mk2 mr2, the sound & looks alone are fantastic! A future classic at todays bargain prices. Why toyota ruin its great shape with the mk3 I will never know. Road handling of rev3-5 is much improved on the rev2 however I wish the windows didnt rattle when partly...

Re: Learning key fobs
I'm glad it helped. :) There are two issues here, the pressing both the buttons routine appears to re-connect a known working fob that fails to work but I'm still puzzled how to get my rev4 to learn a new one. Others are saying it's the fob that needs re-programming if its from another car but I'm n...

Re: £15 = 50 miles - Poor MPG
It all depends on how you drive 20 -30+ mpg from heavy or light footed but I have noticed my fuel economy is much worse on short trips until the coolant is up to temperature. I have changed my thermostat on my rev4 which speeded it up a bit but the engine is running rich after starting with fast idl...

Re: Learning key fobs
Anybody know if it can learn another fob....? I might have to try to find an ecu with 2 key fobs for sale because i suspect Toyota official dealers charge a lot! My master key works fine for everthing but I'm not comfortable without a spare. Or can anyone recommend a car key locksmith near southern ...

Learning key fobs
I read somewhere that the ecu can learn up to 4 different key fobs My rev4 spare key appears to be from a different car but has the same fob as the working key Can the following proceedure work with mr2? 1 Open the driver's side door; make sure all the other doors are closed. 2 Put your key into the...

Re: Rev4 takes 10 mins to warm up with rich fueling, bad mpg
It a 1997 uk rev 4 normally asperated.
yes its taking 8-10 mins to get up to temp.

Rev4 takes 10 mins to warm up with rich fueling, bad mpg
My rev4 engine appears to take a long time warm up under load, it runs rich from start up until it reaches normal temp which is mid way on the guage. The probem I have compared with the rev2 is that I use it a lot for local shop trips from cold & the idle or rich mixture does not settle down unt...

Water poring out after rain showers + abs light on
Hi I'm new, just purchased my second blue mr2 1997 T-bar uk model after I had withdrawal symptoms when my last beloved 1991 red one needed £500 of welding to get through the mot so I just sold it to a friend for scrap. Anyway with this one I notice water poring out of the bottom front right drivers ...
