Re: [FINALIZED] jdm st205 engine ecu £145 inc post
Gonna be honest I thought that was a pretty good price for a rev3 /st205 ecu.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] new brakes
Ah crap, well that can wait until the kit arrives lol.
Almost tempted to just fit the front stuff first and then leave the rear xxxx till later, but I wonder how much that will upset the brake bias.

Ah fair enough, I found all the bits were available on https://www.rallydesign.co.uk/
I just don't wanna get potentially stung for customs twice.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] new brakes
So it looks like the safety wire has been dropped from the kit Beginning July 2019, all brake Wilhelm Raceworks brake kits come with socket head cap screws and Mil-Spec MS21042-5 self locking "jet nuts" for attaching the rotors to the hats. NO MORE SAFETY WIRE REQUIRED! If you have an olde...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] new brakes
Just bumping this to see if you got any further with this, I've ordered the bare kit and just waiting for it to ship.
Did your one come with the safety wire for the bells or the new nuts?

The only person I can think of who had one on here was Ashely, but he deleted all his posts for some reason.
Might be worth asking on the US MR2OC?
I've had too many bad experiences with rosejointed stuff failing, but that was back in the day when I used an mr2 all year round.

Just a thing to consider with that kit, will you be using the car in wet or salty conditions at all?
If so I'd be budgeting to replace those exposed rod ends every so often, they do not last in normal UK weather driving.

Re: K20/k24 swaps
Kinda K20 related but have any of you guys seen that Hux have adapted the hybrid racing shifter https://www.huxracing.com/online-store/Hux-Racing-Hybrid-E153-Shift-Box-p122557284 I was kinda tempted to spend a stupid amount on it until I watched a video and realised I'd have to hack parts of the shi...

I guess leakdown test is in order. I mean it could just be a very rattly heatshield right???
I'd give driftlimits a call instead of e-mailing, if you get hold of Lilly she can talk you through costs for a build or at least get back to you with them.

Re: [FINALIZED] Billet TD05-16G turbokit
It is a tad bigger than a ct20, I ran it on stock fueling and the afr's were fine but I was looking for spoolup over power as my main use for the car was on track. You could put this on a std car but I'd want a wideband just to make sure the afr's are in check. Obviously basic intercooler and exhaus...

Drift limits performance did my build, although it wasn't a failure it did need machining etc.
What happened? it was running allright not that long ago?

Billet TD05-16G turbokit
Selling my old turbo. This is an old school HKS TD05-16G kit, rebuilt with a billet compressor wheel by Owens developments a few years back. Also the downpipe is a koracing item to replace the HKS one which was designed to work with the std cat elbow. This should fit both gen2/3 cars. The manifold a...

If you want cheaper tyres get 17's, 16's are more expensive because with there are less cars with 16's being made.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Turbo smoking - what to do
Not advertising but I may have a TD05-16G kit for sale shortly, this is internally gated and was rebuilt a couple of years ago by owens developments with a billet compressor wheel. I was using it on a gen3 but it should work with a gen2 Spool was lovely, comparable to a ct20 but with a bigger kick. ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Turbo smoking - what to do
When exactly does it start smoking? Is it hot idle? As this is when the oil pressure is at it's lowest which would mean it's the turbo seals. I had a TT CT26, spooled slightly slower than a CT20 but it made around 300bhp on the dyno. Unfortunately it shat an exaust blade through the engine one day, ...

I use carbotech XP8 on track and they cope well, I've managed to boil the fluid before the pads. I found that it's better to deal with carbotech directly http://www.carbotech-europe.com/ Give em a call the guy there is very helpful. Discs, eh just get em from anywhere obviously just don't get the ch...

Re: How to make the car less crashy??
Just remember the UK shocks aren't built with lowering in mind so they may not last as long on a lowering spring unlike the konis.
But if the car isn't gonna be yer all year round daily driver it probably won't matter too much.
