Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Berk Technology MR2 Turbo Exhaust

If you want quiet but performant, HKS Silent-Power is the way forward

Yea I got one for my celica, sounds nice and quiet but not too understated at full throttle. Plus being single exit less weight etc and do you really need those extra kilos over the rear end?

Mongoose does sound good though.

Re: Help. Engine shut off after I blocked the blow off

So when you took the BOV off, did you seal up the vac pipes or are they still loose somewhere and sucking in air?

Can you not put it all back to standard configuration and see if the car runs correctly or not and then test slowly to find the problem?

Re: MOT fail

Dude i know people throwing £500 quid on a corsa to get it through an MOT, you drive a 20 year old MR2 turbo with known Caliper issues (dont both my fronts). Front pads? All brakes wear. steering gaitors? 20 year old rubber, yea its likely to be shot. Mates Focus both had wheel bearings done.. and t...

Re: Removable silencers - angry neighbours

Exhaust bungs do lower the noise level but they are quite restrictive, which has a noticeable effect on performance. I'd either swap the exhaust for a quieter one or - if there is space - get an additional silencer welded in. This is what I've done with my Blitz NUR R http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/v...

Re: BOV blanking plate

Dude im not saying it will blow up instantly upon blanking. But instead of getting 50k miles from it, you might get 20k miles instead (all totally made up numbers). On a race car engine that gets torn down every few months this isnt an issue. on a car you need to rely on and dont want to buy a new t...

Re: BOV blanking plate

If you have a budget for a new turbo i say go for it. if you are going to cry at the roadside if it blows up, then dont do it.. #-o #-o #-o blows up, how exactly is that going to happen? Im just erring on the side of caution. If he can afford a rebuild go for it. If it does blow up and he cant affo...

Re: Driving in snow

Im thinking that the MR2 wasnt loving being sheathed in ice this morning. So much so, she didnt want to open the doors and let me in. About 5mm of ice on the front windscreen that required some hacking at with the ice scraper and warm/hot ish water around the door seals and door handle managed to fr...

Re: Had a scare!

Ive driven mine for 15 -30 miles a day for the last two years. When wet and in winter time I just don't use any boost unless im going in a straight line ane I have space. Just not worth anything else.
