Re: can you fit 80/100W Lightbulbs?
80/100's in the headlamps for two years, no problems. Very nice at night. No probs with MOT as intensity isn't part of the test, only colour and alignment.

Simple, it's R134 'cos you can't legally use anything else.
Older systems will need filling valves changed and an oil added to the gas, not too expensive.

Unless I'm mistaken you don't have an air flow meter on the 3S-GE engine, so the kit should fit.

So do we think Natalie is the young lass who modelled the car in Sept , must cost him a fortune in Ebay fees. I like the way they all nip round and pay cash to each other!

Re: Anything that will increase the bhp in a mk2 N/A? 119bhp?
Empty fuel tank, no spare/tool kit, timing pushed up, only one gear change, 2nd goes to 67, you can't faff the 1-2 shift in an auto and it takes no longer than a clutch gear change. Back in the real world with fuel etc. and the timing moved back a little (it rattled going up hills in traffic) it run...

Re: Anything that will increase the bhp in a mk2 N/A? 119bhp?
K&N panel filter, don't go down the cone route, you need the resonator box for maximum torque (which is reasonably high on this engine) Run it on Optimax and advance the timing to suit. Don't fit any accessories or carry passengers, if you've got a spoiler lose it, adds weight and drag that you ...

There's no sensor on the FE, but I don't know how you'd fit one.

Makes more of a difference at higher speeds. Just try driving at 150 kph without one ;) Cheers KiwiMR2 Purely cosmetic, mine's stable at 200kph :D . If it's so fundamentally important, how come it's shape changed on every rev. without any significant bodywork alterations. I suspect that, like all m...

If I recall it's Dexron II, someone'll be along soon with a manual. I think Redline is only appropriate for manuals. As for garages, you need an auto transmission specialist, try yellow pages or see where the indys sub-contract their work; very few garages work on boxes direct. (My VW VR6 local deal...

Re: [Mk2 NA] 1k..2k..3k..4k...5k......6k.........Where's the pow
Daft question but have you checked the gearbox oil level.Unlike a manual box this is critical, low oil causes loss of pressure in the valving and gearchanges go u/s particularly on ECU controlled boxes. another thought is that the brake band inside the box needs adjusting, the guys that play with my...

Claimed 137mph, although road tests seem to vary, I've seen listed 129 to 135 but these are on tight new engines.

Re: [Mk2 NA] problem with automatic gear box, when cold
Perfectly normal . The Gearbox ECU won't select overdrive, (4th) until the engine reaches a set temperature. Most people won't notice because they're probably driving in a 30 from start.

Re: G-Ltd newbie questions
I think you'll find MAN will hold the gear rather than shifting when you lift off the throttle pedal, can't see much point, as you can knock the o/d off anyway to stop upshifting and it's probably why the UK's don't have the switches.

I'll bet that the bus was heading along what was the old main road, where once you would have had to give way, like changing a speed limit some people never adjust!

Re: Auto advice
Another long shot, is the box definitely running through all four gears? sounds like it may be shifting from 2nd into 4th. The overdrive is controlled electronically, possibly a fault? I seem to recall that if the temp sensor fails the box won't select third.
