Re: MR2 Mk2 NA - As much fun as a tubby?

Here we go again. Turbo's are reliable cars and only cause problems when people start raising the boost without putting protective measures in place. Just because they run higher power than an N/A doesn't necessarily make them less reliable. My turbo has done 93k miles and has caused me less bother...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Anyone with a tubby with a mongoose exhaust?

Yep, had one on my tubby before changing it to a Berk. Flipping annoying to be honest. Very boomy and resonates in the cabin, especially at motorway cruising speed. Couldn't wait to get rid of it. i don't get that at all, but i don't have a decat pipe on yet, how much difference will this make to t...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Screamer pipes

i.e. something ai could just bolt onto my ct26, possibly in exchange for my unmodified wastegate. No. Afraid not. To use a screamer pipe, you'll need a different turbo and external wastegate. The screamer then vents from the wastegate. EarL. i know it can be done on a ct26 using a divorced downnpip...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] De-limiting

it's a rev 2, i thought i could go to a bar of boost on standard head gasket?? You can - but long term reliability depends on mileage, condition etc. and a bit of luck. Can't go much higher as the fuel map in the ECU terminates at 16psi IIRC. haha, i'm sure i'll be happy with the small amount of mo...

Assuming Rev 1/2 Steel head gasket approx. £110 ARP head bolts approx. £110 Safe boost 1 bar. You'll need a fuel cut defender, boost controller and accurate boost gauge too. just bought a fcd off you last week lol, mbc is on it's way as well as boost gauge and hopefully intercooler in a couple of w...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Anyone with a tubby with a mongoose exhaust?

Hi, I'm currently looking to replace my single exit apexi gt exhaust for something with a bit more noise to it. I have seen a mongoose twin exit with flexi for sale which is described as really good condition and its cheap so i'm very tempted to get it. Does anyone have a sound clip or can describe...
