Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] No Power Steering on an import sw20
Yes I tried the ignition trick. That was the first thing I did when it occurred but like I said the relay measures no volt drop so it is good. I've just been out and had another go. The steering sensor functions correctly. There is no code displayed/stored. It is just a constant flashing along with ...

[Mk2] [Turbo] No Power Steering on an import sw20
The power steering went out just before Christmas. I was driving it and everything was working fine. Stopped with the engine off for about 30 to 45 minutes. Started it up again and no power steering. I have done some measuring around and using a multi-meter (Before the ECU stops trying) have determi...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Suspension Replacement
I think this is the right board and using the search failed to give me any meaningful answers so... My car's (Rev. 2 turbo import) front suspension has had it (And the back springs are not too good either). The shocks were leaking a while ago and now I am looking to replace all of it, as in upgrade,...

I don't think the winner was a tubby but James' choice was a Mk.2 rev. 1 by the looks of it.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Rear Lower/Bottom Ball Joint
I called Camskill before ordering. Apparently theirs are Blueprint and one ex-Toyota mechanic I talked to always used and recommended Blueprint. Peter I may be asking you for a front wheel bearing before too long though its only got a small amount of play at the minute. The MOT place says its nothin...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Rear Lower/Bottom Ball Joint
Unfortunately not. They were replaced when I got the car to solve a problem of pulling to the left and this one hasn't lasted 5 years but I don't think it was a Toyota one.

Thanks Stuart.
I was hoping to find a supplier people knew were reliable and didn't just sell poorly made stuff.

[Mk2] [Turbo] Rear Lower/Bottom Ball Joint
My car has just passed it's MOT, first time, for the 3rd year in a row but there is a lot of play in the drivers side, rear lower/bottom ball joint and it should really be changed.
I believe this is the right part number: 43330-39275. Can anyone recommend a good place to get one please?

Took my girlfriend home to her parents house and while trying (for the third time) to get it up a very icy hill the clutch went I still had drive but could not disengage the clutch. Other than that it was fine to drive.

Re: Er...Running An MR2 On Water??!?
Okay. Just saw the diagrams and the thing that scares me most about that system if it would ever work would be a pressurised hydrogen/oxygen mix in a very hot enviroment. The circuit might be interesting to build just to test if it works. I doubt it though (Maybe I could use the 9100 at work)

Re: Shell V-Power 99 RON!
Just filled up with v-power tonight and I thought the car was running a lot smoother (Rev 2 tubby). The only thing I found online that said it was a straight re-brand was wikipedia and that could have been edited by Esso or anyone So to me definitely seems like 99 RON.

Re: Er...Running An MR2 On Water??!?
Is this the one were you heat the water to produce steam and then mix the steam with Boron to so the oxygen is stripped to produce hydrogen and boron oxide? (There was no link I could see.) This system looks feasible as you are using a substance with a greater reactivity to oxygen than hydrogen. Plu...

Re: Clonking front suspension
I finally just got the knock/clunk on mine sorted after about a year. Turns out it was a loose nut/bolt on top of the nearside suspension strut. Nothing obvious by looking they had to be tightened for it to be found.

Should This Really Be Like This....
Mk.2 Rv.2 Turbo. I was fitting missing clips on the recirculator valve outlet hose and checked as many of the other hoses condition as I could. The hose that leads from the metal turbo outlet pipe to (What I'm guessing is) the intercooler appears to have a rather large bulge on the side closest to t...

Re: Gurgling noise after switching off the engine
Funnily enough I just had the coolant changed and this is the first time I've heard that gurgling noise coming from the engine bay. Can't quite hear where exactly but if I put my hand on the hose to/from the cap that says "Do not open when hot!" I can feel it bubbling in the hose. Could I ...

Re: Should the power steering relay get hot? Please read.
I had my rev counter jump all over the place when one of the battery leads was barely on the terminal. The power steering takes a lot of current and if the connection can't supply it some strange things do happen.
