What a difference good tyres make...

Got my new wheels on yesterday and they came wrapped in Khumo Ecsta (?) rubber. The difference in the wet especially is night and day between the $hite that was on it! The previous owner put some Star Performers on to get it through its MOT which led to some squeeky @rse moments in the typical Scott...

Re: N/A Economy

Between 270 and 300 is the norm for me before the fuel light comes on.

Thats with stopping and starting on the way home from work but a nice clear run on the motorway every morning.

I think I worked it out at 24.8 mpg. I'm buying fuel at 89.9p per litre.

Re: WOW!!! We need more Affiliates like this

Last week i order a turbo from Tim@xxxx, he got the turbo from the USA in 48 Hr WOW. He then sent out the next day. Super quick. Unfortuntly though the Shitty royal mail lost the parcel as it was sent 10 days ago and has still not arrived. Been to sorting office everyday and there are no parcels in...

Re: At last - some nice pics!

Cheers chaps Urban - I took all of the heat shields & intake manifold off and sprayed them high temp silver. Takes a bit of time but well worth it. It won't be like this for much longer though - I have a cunning unique idea for the engine :D I'll wait and see how cool it looks before I rip the ...

Liking the backdrop as well. =D>

Re: service

I've been told in the past that the best spark plugs to go for are NGK - BKR6E. An oil that a lot of people are using and that Oilman recommended to me was Silkolene Pro S 5-40w. Probably about £40 for 4 or 5 litres, can't remember. You can get it from www.opieoils.co.uk . I wouldn't change the lead...

Re: Quick wheel nut question...

When I first got my tubby, it had tapered nuts on. When I had my tyres changed, it was pointed out that the tapered nuts were damaging the wheels, and that it should have these type of nuts with the captive washer and the flat face. I raised this at the time and was told that indeed the standard wh...

Re: Alloys - PCD's

I very much doubt it, it would make the holes massive which in turn would strain the studs. Also, depending on how well the wheel locates it could be nasty.

Re: Quick wheel nut question...

Assuming you're talking about standard rev 3 wheels, the nuts look like this: http://www.priracing.com/product.php?xProd=581&xSec=182&jssCart=4946de4d8eaa85d2cf600cac7318535a (although I think the standard nuts may be slightly longer than this). HTH, Jon Cheers mate, although they look like...

Quick wheel nut question...

Went to order some locking nuts there and couldn't remember if the wheel nuts are tapered or rounded at the ends. #-o

Also, is there a specific length I need or are they all fairly similar. They will be McGard locking nuts.

Can someone quickly clarify?

Thanks
Graeme

Re: HAVE YOU SEEN THIS BODYKIT!! PROB BEST IVE EVER SEEN!!! :)

I reckon to the neutral it would like quite smart. For people like us that appreciate the MR2 for the lines and curves of the car then the majority of us would turn our nose up at it. I'm not one for taking anything away from what Toyota created with the MR2... within reason! 8) But top marks for ha...

Re: Me V's a GSX1000 !!!

One of my workmates has a Suzuki GSX1000 and we decided at lunch today to go for a little spin along some of the country roads down the South Downs in Hampshire. WOW! Those things can shift, i thought my tubby was fast and could take a reasonable corner...... not compared to this baby. We w...

Re: Help me lower my car...

My rev 3 tubby has very, very, very, very low lowering springs on standard 10 year old struts. The struts are fine. The lowering was done by a previous owner and was fun on the slowish test drive, but now that I live with it every day it's a pain in the a$$. So lower away, but be advised not to go ...

Help me lower my car...

I'm looking to lower the '2 fairly soon but not sure what path to go down. Bearing in mind that I don't take my car on track and don't drive it all that hard, it'll mainly be for looks purposes. Should I go for adjustable such as the Tein Super Streets or just lowering springs and maybe uprated shoc...

Cool. What are you selling them for if you don't mind my asking?

What model are they and will they fit inside most wheels?

If so I'll more than likely take them off your hands.

Cheers

Re: Which Wheel Locking Nuts?

Do these other forums have evidence that the nuts are easily removed, or is a case of idle speculation? My apologies, I misread the other forum. The topic was about a guys who lost his locking key and couldn't then get the nut out. Someone else said to whack a socket over it and it would come off b...

Which Wheel Locking Nuts?

Pending the arrival of my new wheels I'll have to get sorted out with some quality Locking Nuts. Have been looking at the "McGard Ultra" which seem to get rave reviews but also some other forums have said they've seen them easily removed. :-k No doubt the majority of you have Locking Nuts ...
