Re: looking at a rebuild
Sounds like you need to find a different mechanic. I find it amazing how many are prepared to guess at a fault then charge you for their time to fix it even when it does not work.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] aftermarket intercooler heat issue
Hi chaps. Havent ran one of these ebay side mount intercoolers before. Bit worried about the heat its passing on. The cooler itself is set up on the shroud and sits nicely. But the outlet pipe to the engine inlet is too hot to touch after a run out. As that is the cool side I expected better. Std c...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] aftermarket intercooler heat issue
Intercooler sprayers are available. Easy enough to mock one up or get one off a Subaru impreza that ran one as standard on some models. wonder if you could set something like this to only recome active at a certain boost pressure? Easily, MAP sensor and a comparator circuit, job done! Like this exc...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] What bhp would my rev2 turbo roughly be?
Why would a car loose power over the years? If its well maintained and all the ECU sensors are functioning then it should still be making stock power. I know my MR2 tuyrob which is bone stock and running well with 91k made the exact factory figures on a rolling road that is known to be a bit of a he...

Re: Max Power TRD Rescue
Cheers. To be honest the lights are worse than the spoiler so they are higher on my list of prioties. I can see the spoiler getting more and more lame as time goes on but its just about acceptable at the moment. I only have REV1/2 lights at my disposal at the moment but about 8 years ago I bought a ...

Re: change of seats from old originals to bucket seats
I have just removed some Raceland bucket seats from my MR2 to replace them with originals. The Raceland seats are no stock MR2 runners and it looks to have been a simple bolt on job. Not all buckets will be the same but its goot to know MR2 rails are flat and square so make for easy fitment. The sea...

Re: [FINALIZED] 1994 GTS TRD widebody rep. good runner but no MOT
Absolutely gutted for you, this is my biggest fear with mine as the kit is smooved in so will not be removeable for any welding etc.
I hope you can get back some cash for it, I would love to take it as spares for mine but it would cost to much to get it to Guildford I think.

Re: Max Power TRD Rescue
fit the REV 6 lights I recently aquired but my goodness do they rot (not a dig at the seller as they all do it). If you mean the front rev6 lights, the fixed twin lamp ones, I think Rogue acknowledged there was a problem with the coating used on the metal and were going to replace them as a warrant...

Re: Yellow TRD widebody project ***BIG MOT FAIL, END OF THE LINE FOR ME***
Every delivery driver that comes to the house has to ask me about mine and then tell me all about cars they have or have had! Although today in Sainsburys Petrol the 3 women at the counter were talking about it when I went in to pay for fuel. They were arguing as one thought it was a Porsche as she ...

Re: Max Power TRD Rescue
Yeah I am looking for a genuine (ish) spoiler but then I have to get the holes and dents in the boot fixed before I can fit it so the cost does rack up. I would like to get some dark rear lights cut into the kit at the same time and possibly a filler cap. The filler on this has been moved inside the...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] OER Piggback
And then a googl of OER Direct Air System brings up their website. Dont bother clicking the English version as they only sell the Carb to markets outside of Japan. http://www.oer.co.jp/index.html They dont seam to do any sort of fueling or timing mods but instead VTEC actuation controllers and boost...

I Found the following on another forum after a Google image search. I found one picture with a box in the background with the same logo. The Ultimate Solution A lot of my research into the 20v horns started here at OER Corporation. OER is one of those small Japanese tuning firms that most have neve...

Anyon ever heard of it? Nothing on google. http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/dd423/Super_Red/IMAG0388_zpsef3d5493.jpg This was fitted to the MR2 rev2 I just bought. Given that its pretty much unmodified I have remoevd it but I wondered if anyone knows what it might be for. It does not look to have...

Re: selfservice garage weng manchester
I've seen places like this before but have no first hand experience of this one. Got to wonder what their insurances are like and what happens if you get to a point where you cant get the car off the ramp.
I know the one I experienced could not get insurance for welding.

Re: Rev 5 N/A engine into Rev 2 N/A help
I beleive there are differences in cam profile aswell so you may want to fit Rev 3 cams as the ECU will have the wrong map for REv 5 cams. This will then give you the full rev 3 power, 170+bhp so is a good thing over the 150ish of the rev 2 engine.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Checking error codes
Cant find what code 47 might have been but after a reset the car will go back to base running and then relearn the fuel maps, if the timing had been pulled through knock this will have gone back to a good setting.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Will these Head unit work with my car ?
Its unlikely to wire in directly even with an adapter as you have the active system. You will probably need to rewire from the head unit directly to your speakers. I have also found the power wires are much to weak on the feed to the head unit as they are designed for a system with no apmplification...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Q's regarding Oem bov
Yes a vacuum T peice would probably work as then they would both open. You could of course ditch the second BOV in this example and just vent the stock one to atmosphere.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Q's regarding Oem bov
If you disconnect the vacuum the BOV will stay shut so you have no air passed through to the next BOV. You would have to use an addapter or try to remove the intenals of the stock BOV.
Its up to you if you want to vent to atmosphere, its not a good idea on a REV1 or 2.
