Re: What subs you got? homemade or any active subs that fit ?
Who is and isnt keeping the rear speakers with their subs setup? I have always disconnected them favouring a doors only plus sub setup. The door speakers are 6.5 inch rather than 4 inch for the ones in the rear quaters and I find they are too close to your head. Tweaters in the doors aswell with the...

Re: Max Power TRD Rescue
Today I finished something I started 3 weeks ago but had to cut it short due to a whining noise coming from the missus, something about other DIY jobs needing doing so after 2 weekends of fitting kitchen cupboards and chasing walls for new sockets I got my Rev6 headlight kit fitted and wished I had ...

Re: What subs you got? homemade or any active subs that fit ?
Here is another one I dont recomend then, my first 10 inch sub box. If you want an example of not being able to put the seat all the way back this is it! At the time the car (rev1 N/A) was my wifes daily driver and I never drove it so I put the seat where she has it at 5 foot 3 and used every availa...

Looks really wel done. It looks like the front fogs have been brought forward to sit flush with the kit. Are the stearing fogs? Would make more sence to bring htme forward so they are not shrouded by the kit.

Re: What subs you got? homemade or any active subs that fit ?
Sounds like you want to do the reverse to me, increase the low pass filter to closer to 200hz if the sub is doing nothing and then overpowering the front stage when it gets a signal. Then its just overbearing all the time. I will give it a try again but it only really sounds good at low frequencies...

Re: What subs you got? homemade or any active subs that fit ?
My first MR2 had a 10 inch pheonix gold sub in a sealed box and head unit powered 6.5 inch components. With the bass set to its lowest on the HU and the sub amp set to about 100hz with no additional boost on the bass it sounded great. Very loud and could play rock music just as well as any other typ...

This I dont suggest, although it appears nice to have a 1000watt 12 inch sub in the car it actuall sounds rubbish. I am going to keep it as it was in the car when I bought it but would not do it to another car. http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/dd423/Super_Red/2013-08-04_14-52-53_664_zpsf373ec45.j...

Re: Camber bolts (yes another problem)
That set you have listed is a pair so will do both sides. There are differing opinions on where to fit them but I beleiv its the top with a standard bolt in the bottom.

Re: Idle
Did u mark rotor arm when changing cap and arm. U could have retarded timing which would do this. You will only change the timing if you rotate the distributor body. The spark is ECU controlled so the position of the arm on the rotor will make no difference, it will only move about 3 degrees each w...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] celica gt four st 205 caliper conversion on mk2 sw20.
Good luck with finding magic brakes that dont seize. I have in the last 2 years had to rebuild my Audi S4 brakes and Mitsubishi Delica brakes. Both are twin piston sliding calipers like the MR2 and both suffer just like the MR2. Audi was even worse as the alloy housing of the twin piston part had co...

Probably yes, starting with the people who have answered this thread telling you that your mechanic is wasting your time and ending with your mechanic who wants to do costly unessesary work.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Headgasket has gone and I have limited funds so DIY! Help needed
Never done one on a '2 but I cant imagine its easier to take the engine out as it has to go out the bottom. I would not hesitate to DIY the head gasket change myself but the cam belt is a pain in the A and I would want to be 100% sure it needed doing before I started. I would set the tappets whiel I...

Re: smoking
My Rev2 did this when I picked it up, massive over fueling as my BOV was letting air out and there was some sort of piggy back ECU installed.
Obviously a rev 3 should not over fuel due to an air leak but there may be other reasons it could be doing it.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Cams
Have a look here, not HKS cams but a good indicator. As you can see all cams are available for both engines, I have the TOYSGBPS270 cams for an N/A, in this spec they are quoted as giving 10bhp but the TOYGBPS270T turbo cam is totally identicle. http://www.pipercams.co.uk/pipercams/www/product_searc...

Re: looking at a rebuild
Rev 1/2 Turbo will stutter/stall when you take the cap off, that in itself is not a fault or an aid to diagnosing any other fault.
Get the fault diagnosed properly first before trying to fix it.

Re: Any legal issues with tinting exterior lights?
Any modifications to the lights that change their colour, brightness or intensity is a fail. Simples. Wow, thats a lot of TVR's that will now fail as they have tinted Fiesta lights as standard. I would imagine as long as the light is bright and of the corret color only the most anal of tester is go...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Cams
Yes they will fit but you will need to find out their profile to asses if they are suitable or not. Rev 3 N/A cams are pretty good cams already.
I have N/A cams in my Turbo, other than the profile the metal itself is all the same.

My Raceland universal bucket seats are mounted onto the stock MR2 runners. This is quite handy as the stock runners have the seat belt buckle on.

Re: mbc
Cutting the spring short will reduce the spring. Stretching it, as long as you bend the metal past its elestic limit will put more spring into the spring. Until a spring is compressed its just a coil. I found with my MBC that after dissasembly you could assemble it in such a way that the spring woul...
