[Mk2] [Turbo] Re-fitting of T-VSV... help!

Hi all, I'm trying to re-fit my T-VSV as it works alongside my Unichip. It was removed while the engine was being rebuilt. the TVSV has 2 vacuum hose connections coming from it but when I am under the car, where the TVSV belongs, I can see 3 vacuum hose connections, 1 of which is blocked up with a b...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Car always needs jump starting.

Took the car to my local garage and had the battery tested, it was stuffed. Picked up a new one and everything back to working order! Thanks Peter for your help. Even seems to run smoother.

Cheers, Michael.

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] driver side locking mech.

Hi Peter, sorry to bring this up again, I can't seem to find the part number for this solenoid. Do you know it? Or know where I can get it? I need to order this today if I can.

Cheers mate, Michael.

Re: Dastek Unichip and Boost Module

Hey mate, how did you wire it up? Do you have a guide? Any photos of your work? I need to wire mine up as after a rebuild it seems it's not running with my original map. Sorry I can't answer your question, although I think the unichip uses the TVSV to control boost so yes, you'll need to re-enable i...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Car always needs jump starting.

Hi all, having a problem with my '2. Since having the engine rebuilt the car never wants to start on its own. I always jump it using leads. I've checked the volt readings off the batterys terminals( I know this isn't the best way to check a battery but thought it might help) The readings without the...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] driver side locking mech.

Thanks Peter, Legend! I thought it was something like that but didn't want to start ordering parts until I was sure which part I needed.

If you could that would be great and I'll get it sorted.

[Mk2] [Generic] driver side locking mech.

Hi all, I can lock the driver door with my key but when sitting in the car and pressing the door lock button(in driver door card) the passenger side locks fine and the driver side tries and fails to lock/ unlock, I can see it move a bit though. I took the door card off and greased the moving parts b...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Blue (Remote on) wire connector??

Hi all, I'm trying to fit my Sony stereo back in my car, all Harnesses connected up and I have a single blue wire ("Remote on" is written on a tag around the wire). I know this fits into the back of my stereo but its missing its connector. Can someone tell me what the connector should look...

Re: Alloy art, southend.

Are these 2 or 3 piece split rims?

How long did they take to do?

I think its difficult to find wheel specialists in the UK that can refurb split rims with a polished/ chrome lip. I certainly don't know of any in Scotland.

Those are the nicest clocks and heater controls I've ever seen! What an amazing job. I NEED to do this! Maybe an exact how to on this would be great for DIY'ers? I wouldn't even know where to start.

Thanks for sharing your work.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Lowering springs

Eibachs are the ones to go with, I just bought a set of Teins and they are too low and hard for our roads, Eibachs will be perfect. I'll be getting a set soon.

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Crashing suspension!! ARGHHHHH!!

I am putting standard springs on this week to sort the problem for just now. The near future plan is to put the Tein springs back on once Ive fitted the Koni inserts. I think once the inserts have been added and stiffened up this will stop the crashing out and hopefully increase the travel of the sp...

Re: Were to get braided brake hoses?

Apologies Karl, thats not where I meant.

Its www.awesome-gti.co.uk that do HEL brake lines for the MR2 at £51.73

Hope that helps mate. I think they also do the cheapest Koni kit for suspension too, just for reference.

Cheers, Michael.
