Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Weight difference ps/non-ps

Does anyone know the weight difference of a powersteering rack versus a non-powersteering one? Practically zero. The weight saving is in not needing an electric pump to provide the power assist. Additionally, that electric pump will create a parasitic loss at the alternator robbing the engine of a ...

The document I posted above confirms this. It's 1kg lighter than the non-vvti 1MZFE and 17kgs lighter than a 2GRFE.

Re: G-Limited MOT Decat

Many thanks Peter :D Ah good stuff will take that with me. Thanks. No problem. Cat test is based on car year and origin (99% of cases will be same criteria as engine since will be original engine). Fit different engine and cat test should ( :-$ ) be based on age of different engine, not the age of ...

Re: G-Limited MOT Decat

Quick question guys. I got my MOT today and have got a decat fitted. I've got a N/A rev 2 g limited. Will this be considered as a non cat test? Also i've recently put a UK 3sge engine in. Would that make a difference? Should i tell them this? Because the car has a UK equivalent, it will be treated ...

Re: MR2 Championship Race Car for Sale

just of out interest what are stainless steel pull cables? The car must be equipped with a mechanism whereby the fire extinguisher and battery master cut off switch can be activated externally to the car. The most common method in club racing is to have a pull cable that physically actuates the app...

So, you can do it just with a crane for the engine and jacking the rear of the car? No need for one of those electric full car cranes from workshops? Front wheels in tyres, rear air jacks up two levels. Should take ~4 hours... http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8317/8014839292_b04f431e40.jpg Rogue Motor...

There are a few videos that we produced as we went along here:

Yes, there is a core plug for the oil system behind the flywheel. This is the one that failed.

Re: Britcar 24hr Race 2012 - This Weekend!

We traced the problem to a faulty core plug behind the flywheel - it was an oil fire. http://sphotos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/380114_346064482154088_316008405_n.jpg The marshals did a great job with the extinguishers and we had heat / fire resistant materials throughout the engine so got away ...
