Re: Britcar 24hr Race 2012 - This Weekend!

Looks promising, got any GT86 shaped targets in your sights by any chance? ;) We'll be there again. Everything's a target! The two GT86's that are entered are both in the class below us but I reckon they'll do really well. They should be ultra reliable as they're not modified much from standard, an...

Britcar 24hr Race 2012 - This Weekend!

Hi all, For those of you that might be interested, Rogue Motorsport will be competing in the Britcar 24hr race this weekend. We're using last year's car but have upgraded it significantly in key areas. - Brakes have been upgraded to AP Racing 6 pot calipers at the front and 4 pots at the rear. These...

Re: N/A versus Turbo?

The car in the video started life as an MR2 Championship car - the same as the ones that are overtaken. The engine fitted is forged - purely for reliability - and the power upgrades are the same as you'd do on a street car: - BMC Carbon Dynamics air filter - Apexi AVC-R Boost Controller - Link G3 EC...

If you do reposition the needle, make sure you do it with the engine off but the ignition on.

Re: Excellent information on tuning 3S-GE engine

It's less about the difficulty and more about the expense. Here's one we did for a Celica: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m2NUBzYCK_A If memory serves it made about 220bhp. The same budget would have made 400bhp+ out of a turbo. It all depends on what you want out of an engine - I agree with Ashley ...

Do you want to race at the Britcar 24hr?

Hi All, In all seriousness, I am looking for drivers for our second team but you'll need to have a budget in the region of £7,500 (for a quarter share), be qualified to National A standard and a decent pedaller... We're also hosting a virtual 24hr race this year which will be run by The Online Racin...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] 2GR-FE conversion against 3S-GTE conversion

The TRD supercharger only runs to about 6.5 psi of boost pressure. The rotrex is less efficient and is going to heat the air more, so you'd need some kind of intercooling solution as well. The intake temps even with the twin vortices are approaching 70 degrees!

Re: Best v6 or v8 to buy?

Is that for the Charger, injectors/fuel rail and ECU? That's for the supercharger, injectors, cast aluminium inlet manifold, brackets, oil pipe, bearings and belts. There's no ECU with the kit and I suspect the stock 2GRFE was reflashed with a specific SC map. Expensive Horsepower :? Is there any o...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] 2GR-FE conversion against 3S-GTE conversion

I think Patrick is talking about the Aurion charger for the 2GR. Yep, this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ln25jNvm53k A lot of money and in the grand scheme of things probably not worth the effort for the cost involved. I disagree. For the power and toque gains - and I'm not just talking peak ...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] 2GR-FE conversion against 3S-GTE conversion

What's the rough price for a 2GR-FSE and the conversion then? Out of curiosity. 2GR-FSE is designed to be mounted transversely, so couldn't be used in an MR2 without a *lot* of effort. The trd supercharger is around 2k second hand for the 1mz so I'm guessing that it would be similar to supercharge ...

Re: Flat floor under trays

im thinking of doing these but using di-bond. This is like a hard plastic sandwiched inbetween 2 sheets of thin aluminuim and is 3-4mm thick. It's used in outdoor shop signage so should be up to the job. Cost is around £70 for a 8x4 sheet which will be alot cheaper than an ali sheet. We experimente...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Derestrict for track

Hi all, I'm looking for a cheap way to derestrict my Mk2 NA import for track days, does anyone know weather simply swapping the speedo for one from a uk model would do the job? Many thanks in advance No it won't. Cheapest way is to cut the speed input cable to the ECU, probably with a bullet connec...

You're looking at the thick end of £5k for the complete kit.

I guess they're the TRD units from the Aurion if they're coming from Oz? You got it, exactly the same kit that's on the Evora S as well - although they powdercoat the Harrop HTV1320 black rather than red. whats the dyno figures then http://www.roguemotorsport.com/images/misc/britcar/dyno-plot2.jpg ...

Turn the volume down before clicking the link:

We've done another one since and there are two more superchargers currently winging their way from Australia to us right now.

Re: Speed Sensor is sending me loco!! (code 42)

The wiring diagrams (1991) have been some help in trying to trace wiring- although my car is a rev 3 turbo, so they are not completely helpful. To confuse things further my speed sensor plug has different wire colours (black&yellow, brown, yellow&red). UK diagrams aren't going to be a great...
