Mk1 Club mags anyone?

I have 15 club mags from June 2005 to present, anyone want them?

I hope someone does; I don't like throwing things away :-)

PMs not being sent, GRRRR!

I find that 50% of the time, PMs that I send just sit in the outbox going nowhere. It's very annoying.
Is it a manual task to read and approve all "private" messages? That sounds crazy.
Or is it a bug in the site, do i just need to keep resending?

coverco wrote:Remember if you get spacers then you will possibly need spigot rings to locate the wheels, it may be cheaper to just buy the studs.

that's only possible if the wheel centres are bored out.

I agree, best way to solve IMO is obtain OEM studs from a broken mk1.

Re: ST 185 Brake conversion

Therefore if front and rear piston size is the same, bias is 50/50. If front area is twice that of rear, bias is 66/33. making the assumption that the master cylinder is doing the same amount of work for both ends of the car. bearing in mind they are 2 seperate circuits, with a proportioning valve ...

Re: ST 185 Brake conversion

without going into too much detail you have to remember fitting bigger calipers means more piston chamber volume for the master cylinder to move fluid into,so that will decrease lock up on the fronts at the expense of maybe a little more pedal travel. It requires someone more clued up on the mathem...

Re: Head gasket gone! Help!!! Stuck in Brighton

my first mk1 behaved just like yours when I filled it up incorrectly, not bleeding it properly. So getting the air out *might* fix the problem. Even if not, it might not be the head gasket, fingers crossed!

A cracked coolant tank cap will allow air into the system while it cools down.

Funny story!
pretty daft how it disables the drivers side switch though!
probably cheaper to wire it like that.

could it be that the system is full of air? did you open the valves at the heater and rad when you refilled it?

Re: MKI as a daily

I'm guessing by NDR008's location that he works for a ford-related company. Having worked in the business myself I can vouch that for certain automotive manufacturers, the chaotic nature of their design processes beggars belief, such that it's a miracle that finished cars emerge from the other end! ...

It'll be worth getting hold of tracking info. Parcelforce are a bunch of gays who kindly pay customs charges on your behalf, add an admin fee for their great service, and hold the item while you wait for their invoice to arrive. If you get the tracking info you can pay over the phone before the lett...

Re: ST 185 Brake conversion

I dont know why you'd want any better brakes on the back anyway! :thumleft: well if you like to only use 2 wheels to stop then no need to bother with the rears :-k but I've found with the front brake conversions, using brakes from front-engined cars, it's way too easy to lock up the front wheels. Re: clutch time?

I'm totally baffled as to how perished engine mounts can affect clutch feel? Force is exerted by the master ans slave cylinders; if either of those were loose then you'd notice, but as far as i understand, the clutch would still work as normal even if the engine was dropped! A bit OT but its confuse...
