Re: Restoration and Respray (gets pic heavy)

I don't think a rusty Mk1 can be made into a new one with a bit of welding & a fancy total respray though  Potential outcome doesn't justify the outlay IMO Course it can. The pity is (due to the MK1's value and still being high in numbers) is that very few people restore them. Go look ...

Re: Wheel geometry settings - wheelbase?

Adjusting the forward/rear pointing arms adjusts 'castor' (where the wheel sits in the arch). I'm not sure what the factory settings are, but you may have more luck searching for castor. A lot of the digital places have the settings programmed, so should be abl to adjust them, although a lot of peop...

Re: Sprinting regulations for lots of interesting cars

Thanks for your help Tim :) Curborough Sprrint Championship Regs here: http://www.curborough.co.uk/files/champregs12.pdf Judging from the regs, what class to do think they would bump me into if they consider the car to be modified :?: Have already stripped quite a bit of weight out of it plus lower...

Re: Sprinting regulations for lots of interesting cars

I don't know of any championships where Modified Series and Modified Specialist compete directly as the MSA have now clearly defined the catagories. Well heres 4 for starters, HTH  http://www.asemc.org.uk/ http://www.mark2motorsport.com/acsmc/downloads/2012%20Approved%20ACSMC%20Speed%20Champi...

Re: Sprinting regulations for lots of interesting cars

Cartledge, that's just because the classes have been amalgamated. You could end up in a 'class' with anything due to that. I'm in a class with a Mallock (Sports Libre) and an OMS (Racing Cars) this weekend, but that doesn't mean that i'm actually competing against them. I don't know of any champion...

Re: Sprinting regulations for lots of interesting cars

Cartledge, what championship do you compete in? Peter, if you go a bit further and remove the interior you'd end up in Modified Limited Production. You wouldn't end up with the kit cars as they run in Modified Specialist Production (thats where I play :D ) Once again, it depends on the events (I'm ...

Re: Off topic

Slightly off topic, What type of camera did you use to record that footage? I like it. It was a go pro HD (the old one). Its solid mounted to the rear bulkhead so suffers from vibration etc, but is absolutely brilliant. The old one is on sale in some places due to the new one being out. for instanc...
