Nope I prefer the grilled look too.
Thing is once it is gone it's not very simple to return to the original look

Re: Favourite Wheels Options
Thing is to get a deeper dish you have to change the offsets so it would suit something like a TRD kit, way too sticky outty. This is pushing it to the limit with what you can get width wise and what you can get under the rear wings and not catch the strut. ET35 9J with 265 tyres. http://i14.photobu...

Re: Favourite Wheels Options
I'd second the BBS LM's. Being a long time fan of them.
I had the 17's which I should have really kept as it drove fine, but the 18's looked better so got them.
As a side note if it's for an everyday car I'd stick with a one piece design with as few spokes as possible (but never less than 5).

Re: Mr2 turbo engine stalling when clutch is pressed
Woah steady on there, A switch would have nothing to do with your engine stalling when you press the clutch in. It's a manual car. Have you checked the operation of the clutch and master slaves? Are you sure they are 100% bled correctly, the clutch line can be a pain to bleed sometimes. If you're su...

Re: Rev 5 turbo value?
£4.5K isn't a bad starting point to be honest. You never accept the first offer, so if you can get £5K you're doing very well. It's a Rev5, nothing mystical or special about them compared to the other revs in reality. Also you cannot go on prices when new, we're talking 13-15 years of depreciation a...

Re: Mini Cooper S, life after the MR2
I think the chassis is upto a standard turbo no problem. Problems arise when there is bigger turbos and higher boosts involved. The power delivery becomes markedly more on and off in nature. Which couple that to a well balanced but inherently twitchy chassis means an unpleasant driving experience. Y...

Ooch thought you were going for the mini for something more reliable and better on fuel?
2 weeks after mine had gone I knew I should have held onto it. Luckily it's back in my garage now

Hey Michael, It was Simons accident repair centre in Irvine.
They have so far done 3 of my cars in the last year for a decent price. Can't fault them and they will be doing the whole of the MR2 when I get the money/inclination

Re: Respray
Maybe because it's where I live but a front end respray of my completely peppered RS6, and a repair and respray of the rear bumper all in came to £600.
I'd expect to pay less than £1500 for a full respray of my MR2.

Your threads will probably be destroyed when drilling out too.
I found rivnuts are great for recreating captive threads in previously knackered steel.

Re: supercharged v6 what supercharger and were from
Unless your like me and you want it just because its not really been done over here  MRV6 was running a SC 1MZ up until about a couple of years ago, then had it swapped for a 2GRFE. It wasn't the Vvti version of the 1MZ though if that makes much difference.. And was blown away by the differenc...

Re: Rev4 Sonic Shadow 3.5L VVTi V6
Well nearly 14 months after the last update, this is my final update for the silver beastie (by me) No sooner did I get the car back from the bodyshop after new sills and colour coded side strips that the car is off to its new owner. Can honestly say it was pretty horrible seeing it disappear down t...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Forged internals... (WARNING huge post!!)
Have you considered a 2gr might be a more economic and generally more sensible option? If sensible isn't the call of the day batter on but gear up for the costs involved. You'll have heard names like Cometic for headgaskets, ARP for studs, Eagle for con rods, Wiseco for pistons. These sorts of guys...

Re: Idea - A whats it worth section?
I'd like to say I think it would be a pretty bad idea. Asking other MR2 owners what someone elses MR2 is worth is in no way a measure of valuation on a car. From a lot of replies on various threads it becomes quite clear just because you own an MR2, does not make you an authority on them or the valu...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Stock Rev2 3SGTE: 487.3bhp & 364.6lbft, 2.2 bar & 8100RPM
Lots of questions; I thought the advantage with forged pistons is they can take more of a battering when knock happens? Therefore a bigger margin of error for a bad map? Keep the mapping safe and the engine knock free and no need for forged pistons? I'd have thought the increase in revs is more of a...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Alcantara/Flocked Dash
You'll have to be very careful and also find a glue resistant to plasticisor migration. Steve found out about this when he did my dash with his original glue. Everything fine intitially and after 6 months it went baggy in places. Anyway new dash, different glue and it's all fine now. Personally I th...
