Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Mr2 Turbo reliability

Mine's been very reliable so far - things hav gone as they would in any car of this age - both calipers have seized in the last 6 months and the front shocks will need replacing asap, otherwise very good. I get around 26mpg on a run, otherwise its a bit closer to 20ish i would have thought, but if y...

Is that right? My rev3 runs very rough if i put 95ron fuel in, i thought it was ok the first time i put it in but it just didnt behave the same at all - when it should have been on boost it just felt baaaaad!

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Red hot front disc (update)

This happened to me yesterday - got the caliper replaced by YVS - absolutely top service yet again. I thought my car was feeling a little slow - i suppose its been the equivalent of driving around with the brakes on for a few days if not longer - got that 'just bought a turbo' grin on the drive home...

[Mk2] [Generic] Poll: how much to lower by?

Here's my car as is - on factory springs and shocks etc. Looks like the front shocks are shot so these will be replaced soon - will also probably be putting some lowering springs on. I'm not going for coilovers as i dont think i need them, dont use the car on the track. http://img.photobucket.com/al...

[Mk2] [Generic] Can you disconect the oe factory alarm?

I had a new cat 1 alarm put in last year and ever since i've had an intermitant problem with the oe alarm (indicators, horn and 'security' light in the speedo) going off when i disarm the newly installed alarm. This follows no pattern, but goes off as soon as i disarm the cat 1. This didnt happen wi...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Would turbo-charging de-value my car?

I've got a uk rev 3 with a transplanted rev 3 turbo engine, as with all things there are upsides and downsides with it. Insurance can be more difficult, but only in the number of companies available - i pay 425 FC with mods declared. Its probably true that you wont recoup the cost of the engine tran...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Can i retrofit folding mirrors?

Thats excellent - thanks! Looking at the KB, the 'how to' guide starts with "this guide assumes you have the correct wiring loom behind the dash" so could well spell an early stop to this idea as i've got a uk car. But it does have a tansplanted turbo engine in so i guess i'll have to take...

[Mk2] [Generic] Can i retrofit folding mirrors?

As per the title really - havent got them on my current car and wanted to see how much modification (and of what) is required. How about the electrics - i assume the mirror is just a simple swap of the units?

White rev3 in York

Seen this car a few times now - white rev3 turbo with a black bonnet, think it was for sale through distinctive cars york. Anyway - giving it the beans on the outer ring road going in the opposite way to me - sounded nice :thumleft:

[All] [Generic] ecu map for the fuel grade?

More aimed at turbo engines - as a tank of 95 ron fuel made my car have a bit of a hissy fit with boost etc. I've noticed that some cars (e.g. TVR) have a fuel switch in the cockpit presumably to change the ecu map to the fuel you're running. Not normally a problem but has anyone else had the proble...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Front Loose Sound (Not Droplinks / ARB Bushes). Please Any suggestions??

Would be very interested to see if you cured this - i've got a knocking sound from the front and have had it looked at and apparently its not the ARB. I only get it at low speeds though, disapears over about 35ish

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Tubby owners read it and weep

I must be doing something wrong then - i only get 250-260 out of a tank, i think my best ever was around 260ish. As others have said - i got the car for its fun factor though!!!

Hey johnny - what are those dials you've got there - like the look of them, backlit?

[Mk2] [Turbo] Why doesnt my BOV dump??

Works fine when the car is moving, just doesnt make a peep if i rev the car when stationary. I've seen plenty of other folks with BOV's on their cars go when they rev the car stationary :-k BOV is an HKS SSQV Anyone any ideas?

No problem with it dumping otherwise when its moving

Excellent! Did you just pry the toyota badge off with a screwdriver or something? Did you have any problems with it not lying flat afterwards?

The finished article looks very nice in your avatar btw! 8)

Saw a couple of forum members have these and they look quite cool imo. Easy to fit on? Is it sticky stuff on the back or a pin through the bonnet? these ones? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Toyota-Hood-Emblem-Badge-MRS-MR2-Spyder-MR-S-TRD-BKUK_W0QQitemZ190157848757QQihZ009QQcategoryZ36677QQssPageNameZWDVWQQr...
