Fog light spacer bracket (Border bumper)
I'm thinking of reinstalling the fog lights into my border bumper, this time using a bracket to space them further out so that they are secured properly.
Does anyone have any information on hole centers or how much they need to be spaced out by?

COD series (4, MW and Black Ops) are good although Black Ops is still a bit expensive for what it is...

Re: Do you have to lose your fog lights for a Border/Rev 6 front bumper?
I had mine fitted loosely for a while but I ditched them in the end as they kept getting loose. You can certainly get them to fit if you made up a bracket for them though...

Re: opinions of different makes of tyres
I've had the old Goodyear Eagle-F1 and they were great at first but as the rubebr aged they became worse and worse in the wet.
I now have Falken 451s (215/40/17) on the front and the grip is excellent in the dry or wet

Re: [Mk1] [Turbo] play in rear wheel bearing.
As above. I had my ns rear wheel bearing replaced a couple of weeks ago. Picked up the bearing (comes with grease, circlip and pin) for about £45 from ebay. You can make the labour cheaper by taking off the hub yourself and giving that to a mechanic to press the bearing in but it's a real pain to ta...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Crankshaft Pully Bolt IMPOSSIBLE
aah the crank pulley bolt...one of the hardest bolts on the 2 along with the CAT bolts :D I didn't have an impact gun so I carefully drilled a pilot hole and then drilled it out even further. You have to be VERY careful to go in as straight as possible (I was only using a handheld mains drill)...but...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] cracked downpipe...again
Does this downpipe come with/need a supporting bracket?
In my experience almost any downpipe can fail if its not supported with a simple bracket between the b-pipe and the block.
I've had an xs-power () downpipe and bracket installed for over 5 years without any problem.[/i]

although I think maybe the above posts are referring to console games?
I believe on the PC battlefield: bad company 2 is far more popular than mw2

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] XS Power/Ebay intercoolers
The thing that lets the cheap intercoolers down are the pipes and connectors. The actually cooler itself is ok. Ditch the silicone pipes, and the right angle metal pipe, and replace the lot, ditch the mikalor and get a proper fitting clamp, and all will be good. :thumleft: seconded I've had the xsp...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Nightmare Bottom Pulley Bolt!
I didn't have an impact gun so I ended up drilling (carefully) into the centre part way. After that it came away with a long diy breaker bar.
Definately one of the most painful bolts to remove on an MR2. Ranks up there with the CAT bolts after the turbo

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Sony WX-C570R radio/cassette/CD head unit wiring connections
10 pin plug is probably for speakers and accesories 6 pin plug is for constant +12V, switched +12V & ground I think ATT is short for Attenuation, it has the same effect as pressing the ATT button on the front of most headunits. It instantly lowers the volume for when you get a call etc. Pressing...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] aircon always on (a bit) ?
econ allows a larger tolerance of temperature before engaging the clutch on the compressors. So if you set your car to 20 it will allow the air temp to get to say 25 before kicking in, wheras on AC mode it will kick in at a lower temp e.g. 22. The figures are guesswork but you get the principle. At ...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] brakes
ah fair enough. yeah ive had the brakes apart, re-greased with copper grease as you should which has improved the 'feel' of the brakes however, what I have noticed is that im getting severe vibration at speed- 70+ and its undrivable. Had wheel alignment/balance- all ok. been under car and inspected...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Car runs too cold
Could be a faulty gauge but best to rule out engine problems first. I presume you are not losing any coolant (including whats in the expansion tank). To check that the coolant is getting to the right temperature (therefore ruling out engine/cooling problems), use the Coolant Temperature Sender with ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Car runs too cold
The intercooler fan is unrelated as it's switched on by an air temperature sensor on the engine lid.
