I've had the old Goodyear Eagle-F1 and they were great at first but as the rubebr aged they became worse and worse in the wet.

aah the crank pulley bolt...one of the hardest bolts on the 2 along with the CAT bolts :D I didn't have an impact gun so I carefully drilled a pilot hole and then drilled it out even further. You have to be VERY careful to go in as straight as possible (I was only using a handheld mains drill)...but...

Does this downpipe come with/need a supporting bracket?
In my experience almost any downpipe can fail if its not supported with a simple bracket between the b-pipe and the block.

Could be a faulty gauge but best to rule out engine problems first. I presume you are not losing any coolant (including whats in the expansion tank). The intercooler fan is unrelated as it's switched on by an air temperature sensor on the engine lid.
