wastegate is probably hitting the downpipe, not opening fully, meaning the exhaust gasses cant escape and so overboosting.
fitting a 3" downpipe should still be boost controllable via a MBC

Re: Turbo Genuine Gaskets
never EVER use non genuine gaskets, do it once and do it properly.
if the turbo to downpipe gasket blows then you're in the position of removing the downpipe again, awkward bolt positions.. potentially shearing bolts, wasting time. whats the point?

I personally dont think the 2GRFE is all that, I currently have one and im having some major issues with it.
The quality doesnt seem to be the best... Toyota/Lexus have done better imo

Re: The Mule
My cc is above the engine. Even in the other weeks high temps of 27°c. My charge cooler coolant temps were still in the mid 30s and the core was cool to touch. It's all about lagging and keeping the heat in the turbo and the heat out of the cc core. Blankets, lagging and fans work wonders

The water lines are indeed hooked up as per Tial recommendations/design, and all seems fine so far.

Re: Apexi Power FC mapping
no idea if thor are bust tbh, I don't really keep up to date with that sort of thing. I've had good experiences with Jamie Lumley @ Evotune in Durham, he's mapped a few big power 3sgte's on power FC so knows what he's doing. what is your current engine spec? cp 86mms 9.0:1 850s K+N tial 38mm wasteg...

I can chime in with saying, having seen a map done by THOR, I wouldn't let them program my tomtom, never mind an ECU
also... i wouldnt let thor map my a-z.

yes on lesser cars, also tried various toyos. people rave about them and they are "great for the price", but they know no different. Try a proper premium tyre and never look back. You see it all the time, people spent thousands on bodykits, bolt on engine mods, paintwork, but for some reas...
