FSH BRG Rev3 NA

You know the kind of car that the buyers guides tell you to get, with fsh and well looked after. Well, when I was looking I spent ages looking at adverts and eventually found this one. It's a Rev3 in green, FTSH up to owner 2, and FSH since then. I'm the 3rd owner. I've owned it for about 5 years. I...

Goodwood is Great!

Hi a great day at Goodwood today, with Easytrack. Anout 140 miles so about 70 laps, for I think it was £215, for the track day fee (try not to ask me how much I spent on fuel). The weather was gorgeous. Icy first thing but wonderful by about 10am. I don't remember seeing any other MR2s there, you're...

Wow, glad I stumbled across this thread, I've been a member for years and have never been able to figure out the search function.

The Nemex tyres.

It's early days, but no issues so far, I'm due to go round Goodwood in a couple of weeks, that will be a good test ...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Are Mk2 Kumhos not made any more for the rear?

Tyre pressures are fine. Are suspension bushes the things, or some of the things, that get replaced when 'polybushing' a car? I'll dig out a link to the kit I had put on the v6 ...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Are Mk2 Kumhos not made any more for the rear?

I have the new tyres on now. The alignment was very out at the front but tyre wear on the 2 rear tyres which I've just replaced was almost perfectly even on the rear. It still feels 'old car floaty / vague' though. My v6 which was 4 years older, didn't feel vague, so it must be correctable. The Mot ...

Thanks, I've found somewhere similar locally (I googled on the alignment equipment), £75 sounds about right

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Are Mk2 Kumhos not made any more for the rear?

Can you give me a link to them please I tried googling 'wheels in motion' as a phrase but haven't found them ... In all honesty, having a basic 4 wheel alignment is ok but you'd be better off taking it to someone like 'wheels in motion'. They seem to be one of the rare places that cares about settin...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Are Mk2 Kumhos not made any more for the rear?

They have laser alignment where I'm going and can adjust the front but not the rear. They can *check* the rear but not adjust. Is this the norm? I have more wear on the outer edges at the rear, what is needed to adjust if not 4 wheel laser alignment?

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Are Mk2 Kumhos not made any more for the rear?

Just his recommendation. I've been going there years. Mind you the fact that they were cheapest by quite a way (the T1-Rs I think would have been £115-ish with vat) was quite a factor! I think the Nexens are 60-something plus VAT. marc: What made you go for the Nexen's ? I personally wouldn't be lis...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Are Mk2 Kumhos not made any more for the rear?

Thanks Rob. I finally got very fed up with looking on the web so phoned the local company I've been buying tyres from for years. The person I spoked to gave me the choice between (actually funnmy aside as soon as I said the tyre size he knew it was an MR2!) of t1-r, falken or Nexen and as I was ummi...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Are Mk2 Kumhos not made any more for the rear?

It's really hard choosing, the more I read on here, the less I know, eg there's threads where people swear by t1-r/falkens/nankooks, but other people swear *at* those tyres! I wonder how often tyres companies are actually producing tyres that are rubbish at £80-100 a wheel, and how much is down to o...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Are Mk2 Kumhos not made any more for the rear?

For 225/50/15 tyres, it's driving me nuts clicking on combo boxes trying to see what's available. In sub £110 it comes down to T1-R or Falkens. Or something called 'Nexen', and Hankooks. In my web travels, I've come across this site which looks quite good: www.tyrepriceadvisor.co.uk I'm still thorou...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Are Mk2 Kumhos not made any more for the rear?

As to size, I'm just looking for the rears that the Kumho website tyre finder came up with, ie 225/50/15.

I'll have a look at falkens, thanks.

It's a shame I'm going to have 2 different makes on the car for a while.

[Mk2] [NA] Are Mk2 Kumhos not made any more for the rear?

I tried on the Kumho site which didn't offer rears for the Mk2, so I assume they're not made any more? So is it time to ditch Kumhos? I've obviously tried searching for KU31s here, for alternatives, but any suggestions, for mostly road use, with odd track days, and progressive? Again, I've searched ...
