Sounds to me like your alternator is not charging the battery.
The door locking thing could be down to a dodgy switch on one of the doors, does it lock then quickly unlock again? It will do this if it thinks one of the doors is open.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Confused. Can someone 'in the know' take a look at these figures?
Hello mate, Yes, I realise the error of my ways and can now tell the difference between the coil and igniter  - the power test seems to have been to check there is battery voltage at the + terminal of the coil with the ignition on, which there was when the car would start but I've not checked ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Confused. Can someone 'in the know' take a look at these figures?
Don't think it's a cracked manifold as the boost is rock steady. Current situation is that it's sat on the drive and won't start - I've been too busy at work to do much about it. It drove fine over 150 miles on Thursday except for one point when the rev counter dropped like a stone and there was no ...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Timing
Make sure you have a really good connection across the terminals in the diag port. I've had issues in the past when trying to get error codes using a paperclip for instance. If it does the same 'connected' or 'disconnected' then chances are good that it's always disconnected.

Whereabouts in the engine bay is it coming from? Have you checked your coolant recently?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Broken/faulty pump on cooler
If it's intermittent, the only thing I can think to do (apart from just changing it) is to perhaps run a 12v bulb or LED in series with the pump and put it in the cabin - if the light goes out then you have an open circuit.
I'm sure there are better ways but I can't think of one right now...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Broken/faulty pump on cooler
Did it go from 34 -> 70 -> 34 while you were driving it or had you been driving then parked up for a while? If the latter it could just be heat soak from a hot engine.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] nearside front fog bulb change
Any help appreciated as I have a yellow bulb one side and clear the other... I'm pretty sure that when I removed the yellow ones on my old Rev1 it was a piece of coloured plastic/glass that gave the yellow colour and not the bulb itself. These are stuck in firm and you have to snap them off t...

I was sat outside a cafe waiting to go into court - you delivered something I think then sat in you car and ate your lunch with the tunes blaring.

are those 4 part number for the complete set of seals? drivers side and passenger side??? Yup. The seals that go round the roof and down the side of the doors, plus the seals that are on the outside edge of the t-bars. I just drove back from Southampton and the last 20 miles it was chucking it down...

Do you rate that stuff then Mitch? I guess you've tried it.
I replaced my seals this afternoon and they passed the 4-bar pressure washer test
I've got a can of that Halfrauds silicone spray that I was going to use on a semi-regular basis, do you think this stuff is better?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Confused. Can someone 'in the know' take a look at these figures?
Cleaned up the igniter mounting bracket tonight and refitted it all again - started first time so must have been a bad earth I guess. Took it for a hard drive and had the rev counter drop and and no power for a split second a couple of times. Seems to happen after booting it and then going into crui...
