The Rays nuts have a locking nut which is 7 sided and has a groove running down it over which a key slots. I think you'd have a hard time removing one
Good luck

I can't see that +/- 5W is going to make much of a difference to be honest. Even if it does, it'll only be until the oil is up to operating temperature.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] I've locked the boot, now i can't get into it! :(
I'm not exaclty sure I understand the problem (no idea what Valet Lock is), but the lock seized on mine at some point before I bought it. Someone on here recommended I press down on the boot lid whilst trying to turn the key. Worked a treat! Surely worth a try? When the new keys were issued there w...

Guys, I've cleaned up this thread to remove the bickering. If anyone has any further issues with this please feel free to PM me.
Good luck Nathan and all other contenders - should be a great year for the MR2. I'm just sad that I won't be taking part now as my car has let me down again

I'd go with what Matt says. Get a heap of PlusGas/WD40 in there and gently turn the key clockwise whilst wiggling it up and down/side-to-side in the slot.
There have been a few posts on here in the past from people with the same issue and AFAIK this has always worked eventually.

Dunno, but mine are 8.5J +38 on the rear with 245/35/17 tyres. I have Tein coilovers with no rubbing and the wheels are pretty flush.

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] £10 to whoever can lend me this lock nut remover...
When I bought my '2 it had locking nuts on it. The dealer had done them up so tight that when I tried to take them off one of them sheared, leaving half the nut on the stud. I got some good drill bits and started off really small and gradually worked my way up the sizes, eventually I was able to get...

Yes, please ask them not to cash the cheque. I've spent too much cash already trying to sort this out - no point in wasting another 100 quid.

Re: TOTB VII (2008) - "Team MR2"
Sorry guys but I think I'm going to have to pull out. I can't even get my car started at the moment, despite having trekked 150 miles across the country yesterday to pick up a coil/igniter from 3S (thanks James) and fitting it. Still no spark from kinglead to chassis so I can only assume there is a ...
