How's everyone getting on then? :)

I've been slack with MR2 development so far, Nissans have been taking up all my time.

*Might* get the 2 down the strip this weekend for a shakedown.

Re: --- can a rev2 see 300bhp? ---

just wondering what a rev2 can see without major changes ? i know the airflow meter can restrict the higher end bhp results or is that false ? wondering who has rev2's and what they achieved and how :) 340+ for well over a year. 487bhp peak. Aftermarket ECU, massive turbo, big injectors, massive in...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Stock Rev2 3SGTE: 487.3bhp & 364.6lbft, 2.2 bar & 8100RPM

Great thread, I was going to go down a similar devil be damned tuning route when I still planned on going 3SGTE, as in before I fell in love with v8's. Im however curious about the oil specification - why run 15w 50 as I understand it the higher the numbers the thicker the oil, the more likely to f...

Re: apexi safc2

i had one of these fitted in a colt that i turbo charged with a wideband to go with it ..(so no there is no afr on the safc 2).. these units only work on wide open throttle when the ecu stops using sensors and relies on pre built maps and ignores correcting via sensors. the safc managed to blag me ...

Re: The Turbonoz MR2 Budget Beast: 487bhp & 364lb·ft

I'm probably going to do things in stages. See how it does on the 1/4 mile as it is, then some race fuel and 500ish bhp, then some lairy cams with race fuel for 550+ along with a higher flowing fuel pump and larger lines. It'll probably be at that point when the ringlands will say "NO".

A gold one?

Would be good to get some more info, if he's built it surely he knows the spec of the engine :D

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Stock Rev2 3SGTE: 487.3bhp & 364.6lbft, 2.2 bar & 8100RPM

Very impressed mate. Looks a little laggy though.. I managed 500 in me 185 with the tvis still fitted, it became an issue then. A little laggy? That's being way too kind. It has a very high boost threshold on the dyno, it's better on the road but still only suited for the strip, which is what it's ...

Yeah, sorry about that. Also running NGK BCR8ES spark plugs and Shell Helix 15w50 fully synth.

Metal head gasket available from Toyota for same engine. Stock enough :thumleft:

I don't mind reading it- it's actually quite amusing, it's just the constant bickering doesn't come across the best is all...might be better in private? Just a thought- I'll bow out and let you get on with it... No no mate, I agree 100% with you, PMs would be best at this point. I've tried with she...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Next minor niggle :D

SERIOUSLY GUYS - GIVE IT A REST!! It is still on topic in all fairness, and you don't have to read it. It's just a debate from two different points of view. I think it's quite interesting how a small hole can create such a fuss. I would have thought if it was a real issue, either the OP would have ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Next minor niggle :D

It is none of your business, Typical Troll Is it because you are embrassed at the statement with regards to reliablility? No. It is because it is taken out of context . You see, reliability depends on the purpose of the car in question. If you're building a 2L track car with 400bhp, you would use f...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Next minor niggle :D

I see it all comes out now, why would I need to keep backing up how stupid and dangerous it is to cut an access hole next to a live fuel tank? ](*,) Ive said and backed up as much as I need to regarding that issue, if that doesnt sink into your head then I guess it says it all on the type of person...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Next minor niggle :D

P.S. Sheppy, I've sent you a PM a few days ago asking if you could take my business name out of your signature as it is quoting me out of context. Time to move on I hope. Thanks :thumleft: Why are you asking him to do this? I have never said a 400bhp stock-engined car is going to last 10-15k If you...
