Re: Recommended wheel setup

Ditto. And it's one (of many) bugbears I have with the organisation of the Toyota Sprint Series. Adrian did a deal with Toyo which meant that R888s could be bought at a significant discount for those registered with the championship. Well what a stupid "control" tyre to pick! [Shocked] By...

Re: [All] [Generic] TOYO R888 Warning:

I've used them on the road and even driven around the ring in Minus temperatures and never had any problems.

It's a good thing to keep in the back of your mind but its fine in my experience.

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] When to get adjustable droplinks.

When my ARB's were resting on the lower wishbone I thought I best get some.

It's sure a different experience having the car steer itself ;)

Re: Prelude VTEC vs MR2 Turbo Question?

If you ask me, they are different types of cars. The Mr2 turbo is very fussy when it comes to tyres and the stat of it's suspension, the same really with the engine. So in order to get the Mr2 feeling good you need to spend a bit of money getting things sorted. I personally feel this is what is real...

Re: Toyota Sprint this weekend

All this talk of striping the dash and heating out has got me really tempted over the last week :) However, for now I think I'd like to look at a light weight seat (Costing around around 200-500 pound) and a lightweight battery. This along with striping down the doors, getting light weight mirrors a...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Weight Reduction - Heating pipe removal.

Yer Tom's got no dash ATM so heater wouldn't work to well anyway :) I'm interested to see how this turns out as the dash must weigh 10kg odd combine that with the saving from the heating matrix could be pretty sweet ;) The way I see it if the Caterham and Westfield live with a very small heater and ...

Re: Toyota Sprint this weekend

Hehe. I know what you mean about the times. If I didn't have problems with getting the car into 2nd car after the "Water Straight" I recon i'd over made close to that 1 second I needed. It might just be me but i've just had the slave and master cylinder replaced due to clutch issues to i'm...

Re: Toyota Sprint this weekend

Shame you can't make the first one Jo but I'm sure SPA will be amazing.

I do hope we have good results for all the Mr2s on sunday, although I must admit I'm against the rain idea with all these 4 Wheels drive things about ;)

Whatever happens going to be great fun!

Re: Considering a Turbo MR2 for Time Attack

Sorry but you're wrong. Anything less than 500bhp and you've no chances on at least 75% of the courses they run. A 500bhp isn't quite as easy to drive as a 500bhp AWD car. I agree an mr2 would have to be running around 500 hp to be competitive and driving with that much power would certainly be int...

Re: Considering a Turbo MR2 for Time Attack

Honestly I'd be very tempted to give it a go. Personally my feeling is an mr2 could be competitive, but while the power shouldn't be a problem (a turbo'd / sc v6 would be best) it would take quite a lot of time to get a nice suspension setup. Equally it would be quite demanding on the driver, but I ...

Re: MR2 Championship - Mallory Park Sunday 9th March

Nice pictures!

Looks quite an adventurous race!

How'd people find it racing on the R888's?

Damage to Patrick's car looks pretty serious what happened there?, was everyone ok?

Nice

Must admit I look pretty amazing.

Just compare me to that strange blue mr2 going around the same day.

Different Class.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Suspension Techniques Antiroll Bars

TRD arb's are ideal for the road I've heard.

They are a bit more expensive then the whiteline, but are hollow and weigh less ;)

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Suspension Techniques Antiroll Bars

Alot of people seem to run them in the states. They are pretty heavy duty ARB's and i'm not sure they are adjustable. Probably fine for a track car but maybe a little harsh on the road. I've got some whiteline ARB's on atm which offer 3 levels of adjustment of which the lowest is probably as far as ...

Planning a trip around end of July atm.

Unfortunately won't be taking the mr2 this year as I'm a little concerned about the engine and need that to take part in the Toyota sprint challenge ;)

Got a couple ideas of cars to borrow instead mind ;)
