Re: Harness without rollcage

Cheers, some photos would be great as I'm not sure why you need four spreader plates. Cheers for being the Guinea pig You need one spreader plate for the firewall and one for the inner belt on each side. The lap belt section is too long to be tight, even at the sliders shortest length when connecte...

Re: Harness without rollcage

I'd also recommend removing a square section of the insulation material behind the carpet when you mount the reel. This will allow for a flusher fit and this way, you don't need to hack your carpet so it looks nice and stock/tidy behind the seats.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] No bov

I was running 1.2bar on CT20 with no bov for a last year and nothing wrong happened. Will be running with no bov further with TD05. Sounds good! What would you say the best way to do it would be? I've heard of different ways you can do it. If you have a link to what I'd need to buy and a pic of the...

lol. So many mixed reviews :)

IF I was going down the no bov route, what would be the best way with the stock turbo?

[Mk2] [Turbo] No bov

I'm sure a can of worms will be opened here...but is it ok to run no bov with a CT20 at 1bar? I've seen lots of YouTube vids with what look like experienced MR2 guys that have been running this way for years. I.e: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EaaQ5orTgVk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-6em54zkD...

Re: Harness without rollcage

Firewall drilled last night. Directly behind the seat and about 10 degrees down, there's a perfect spot to drill and attach the spreader plate in the engine bay side. It clears the engine bay mounts by a few cm and looks nice and tidy. I would have had them done last night...but I found that the inc...

Re: Harness without rollcage

Good news! Belts done and dusted. Saved about 16cm in total which will give it more than enough room to lock before touching the back of the seat. I will possibly get them back for the weekend. If so, they'll be done by Sunday night :thumleft: The future of MR2 harnesses :D Image Replaced With URL ...

Re: Harness without rollcage

I'd be surprised if you can fit those into an MR2, I have a pair of similar style harnesses (but without the inertia reel) that are intended for use in a 4 seat car and there was no way to get the straps short enough to fit in an MR2 Well, you were right...but it was close! It almost had enough roo...

Re: Harness without rollcage

Ok phase one...unsuccessful. The distance between the firewall and the back of the seats is too short. With the quick release system attached, the section where the belt loops around, is already touching the back of the seat. I'm guessing that in the event of an accident, the inertia reel wouldn't h...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] turbo upgrade

You would be looking at around £650. £400 for a normal rebuild with steel shaft etc then an extra £200 for a billet wheel. Is rebuilding the CT20 a good route to go? I'm currently running stock rev3 with 1.1bar, but wanted to get over 300hp without spending too much. I was thinking of an ECU and re...

Don't see why not, seems pretty cool :thumleft: Best of both worlds I had no idea this type of design even existed. When you guys mentioned the word 'inertia' I just got googling that along with harness and voila! So cheers  This seems like a cracking choice in all aspects, and made in the...

Re: Harness without rollcage

These look pretty interesting, anyone had any experience with them? It looks like you would still have to drill into the rear firewall, they are designed to bolt into the same location as existing seat belts in cars with back seats, installation instructions say you want to keep them as straight an...
